Well no, we can say "bad" movie all we want but a Bad film isn't going to change anything. The only thing that will revert the rights back to marvel is if one or both of properties become unprofitable to them. Now I don't see that happening with X-men, even though the Last Stand was a horrible film it made tons of money.

Fantastic Four however was already on the decline after just two films. There was a substantial drop in revenue from the First to second film even with the introduction of the Silver Surfer. I think if this FF film tanks both financially and in popularity it'll be time for Fox to just let it go.

But if Marvel wants the X-men back, you're absolutely right, it's going to have to be a deal like with they did with Sony.

I don't know, they do have Fantastic Four 2 already announced for a 2017 release. Then again Fox isn't shy to cancel a project like X-Men Origins: Magneto.

Honestly there is a timeline for Fox and X-Men. What other major stories are they gonna try and do? The only original plot was X1, and that was 15 years ago. I mean they did DoFP and AoA. I can name a few others, but they aren't as popular. While Marvel has plenty with Avengers, and while some are crucial to have Richards or Wolverine; they can still handle it well.

It's gonna be interesting to see how all of this cranks out.

Not to mention Fox has to market with their own movies, "Made from the Studio that brought X-Men Days of Future Past". That's all you can see for Fantastic Four.

I honestly think them announcing FF2 before ever putting out the first one is them just trying to keep pace with the MCU. I also don't think they expected the huge amount of backlash they had with all the changes to the FF they've made. That first pic of Doom hit and I thought I heard a thousand comic geeks cry out in horror.

Whoa. There are so many good x stories they can do. They can even reboot if they want to. Imo x men have much better stories than Avengers historically. Only the recent movies have caused a kind of avengers renaissance.

I agree. However, don't be expecting any great X-stories in the near future. Marvel is doing everything they can to shove Mutants in a deep dark hole while the war between Misney and Fox rages on.

I doubt we'll be seeing any new X-MEN related merch any time soon. Misney is on a mission to bury the X-MEN and FF for the foreseeable future. However, it wouldn't surprise me if SSC tried to release a Black Queen variant off of this sculpt. It's something they've been know to do.
