Endor Rebel Combo Deal

Being critical doesn't necessarily mean being negative, and it certainly doesn't mean being rude or mean spirited.....A complete and total lack of criticism or judgment is a sign of apathy. It is possible to be critical of something that you like, or even if you don't like it, at least to be very friendly and constructive about your comments.

So in general, I don't agree that we shouldn't be critical of Sideshow or their products--in the healthy and positive sense. That kind of courteous and spirited discussion is why we have these boards in the first place.

Yeah....what you said. It's why I enjoy coming here in addition to seeing the great artistic approaches fellow collectors take with these great figures from just photographing them to customizing them to their own taste and sharing the efforts.

Now back to the Endor guy discussion...is this "shipper" being offered with all three just the "plain brown wrapper" as it were or is it something cool, like one box for the whole "Strike Team"? The last option would be pretty cool....and be a rather cool unique way to present these kinds of figures?
Future troop-building options could be "Hoth Rebel Defense" "Hoth Imperial Assault Team" etc...
Even just a sleeve that fit over the strike team's individual boxes with some cool graphics and "battle" information ie: the Battle of Endor...this could be a way to slide in some of that unified 30th anniversary packaging into the line without disrupting the great Sideshow packaging we are already enjoying....but I'm getting ahead of myself here...

back to my original question....what exactly is the "shipper" referred to in the announcement?

'Special shipper box' does mean a large cardboard box so that all three will automatically have combined shipping. As far as I know, there are no plans to make a 3-pack retail window box for them. Set will go up with the newsletter on 10/5. I have no idea how long the set will last, as this is the first time we've ever done this, so just to be on the safe side - if you want it, I'd place the order as soon as you can after the newsletter goes up. Hope this helps

This should speak for itself. Sad that this has to be repeated over and over.

I just found a positive aspect about the Endor Strike Force bundle. There's three Endor Rebels. Three. One even wears a camouflage trench coat. There's also three major characters that you can equip with their gear, if you should want to do so: Luke, Han and Leia. I seriously doubt that SSC will ever release a Endor Luke, Han or Leia. And I'm not sad about it!

Well my issue is that I of course want one set for the figures and the second set will be used for Luke and Leia in Endor gear and an African American Trooper.

I'm debating if I will put Brant's Trench coat on Han to give them someone else to go with. Perhaps we will also get an expansion pack sometime down the road with ponchos, trench coats, and helmets.

Right, The list of "qualifying" products does include both regular and second chance in stock items, but it does not include all items from either category. For example, I just tried to redeem my recent DVD gift card on the Metaluna Mutant figure (second chance, in stock), and I received this message:

Not sure why the Metaluna Mutant wasn't letting you buy it - it should let you now! And just as a reminder, you can feel free to call Customer Service anytime to ask them why something is not available with the Gift Card, and they will hunt down an answer for you - sometimes it is a mistake and it SHOULD be Mostly if it's a brand new product that JUST came into stock, or something that's not manufactured by us (Hot Toys, etc) than it's not available for purchase with a Gift Card. But it can't ever hurt to ask

Well here is a possible way around it. Order one set on Thursday and another regular trooper and then just use the regular PPO for the other two and you can get two sets no problem.
I guess this will be almost a semi-inclusive release. I just hope they dont have a set number of the bundles. I cant wait to get one and will be chomping at the bit at 9pm on Thursday to get one.
Dusty that is the confirmed time that the newsletter comes online correct and is there any confirmation as to how long they will be up, I would hope at least a day.

Yea, I was thinking about that. I guess my question is, can you even do that? I don't see why you can't as your buying the bundle and then each seperate exclusive figure. Maybe Dusty can let me know for sure?

I think it's time that SideshowDusty address this Giftcard issue. Isn't a fact that the only reason SSC is giving these giftcards out to thousands of people is to get rid of stale product that has been sitting in the warehouse that no one wants?

To make this a real deal SSC should take the 25 off the set of 3 and forget about the other BS. The figures should ship together anyways, so the shipping benefit is moot. I don't care about getting my toys before the other guy so truthfully there isn't a deal at all. If there is one plus to this is (I believe someone else mentioned this)we wont have to per-order on-line 3 separate times. The exclusives better be pretty awesome for an extra 30 bucks.

So SideshowDusty what do you say?
