Thos shadow cat *******s in the original Devil may Cry. I played that game alot, and I would memorize where they were and try to avoid them instead of fight them

Steinman was definitely the creepiest villain in BS. Ever more so than Cohen imo.

Anyway, has anyone here played a game called Enemy Zero? In this game the monster can't be seen. You can only gauge its proximity by listening to a heartbeat monitor. The closer it got, the more rapidly the monitor would beep. You had to charge your weapon before firing; either you kill it or it kills you.

The scariest gaming monster i can recall..

The nemesis was pretty scary but it was a relatively cool looking character with its rocket launcher. But this spiky abomination is just disturbing... And my character died several times before i realized you had to use the heat vision to kill it which i didn't have.

The scariest character in any game ive played is the girl in the first FEAR game,doesn't exactly qualify as an enemy as you couldn't kill her,she just popped up on random places to scare the ____ out of the player,including me.That game is not healthy for the human mind

I tend to look at 'fear' a bit differently. For videogames, I don't think that it should be based on just how enemies appear, but rather, how difficult and how frustrating they were defeat. Basically, the enemies that I would never want to face again, because I ended up breaking my controller, and hurting my thumbs in trying to defeat the *******s.

First, there's Red Falcon from Contra. In fact just making it all the way to him was a pain in the ass. Next, there was the shadow master from 'Shinobi 3', who had the ability to counter all of your physical moves, disappear and reappear, and constantly grunt in your face as he took away the last remaining life, from your last remaining continue. In Metal Gear Solid 4, there's the Act 4 escape part - that entire portion was like a boss. It took me a few hundred tries to beat it on the hardest difficulty setting. More recently, there's the Cerebus Breeder from God of War 3, and his team of Satyrs..... that was HELL! I tried for an entire week to clear that part on Titan Mode, gave up, and tried again for a few days, when I finally managed to kill that bum.

They're certainly not tough enemies, but no matter how many times I've played Bioshock, these two never fail to scare the living ____ out of me.
