Yet Barcelona are about to pay £80 million for him. Any team in the world would have him.

He isnt worth that now. If Barca are going to pay that, more fool them. He will do something very stupid again and he will cost the club wherever he plays .
I actually dont believe that now. If it was cut price, maybe. But when your talking about the money Madrid paid for Bale and Ronaldo, he's too much of a gamble.
If he does it again and he probably will, he will get hammered.
80m for a player that is racist and bites other pro footballers numerous times is ridiculous.
I actually think you could get Aguero cheaper and id take him all day long.

That's the thing though. Despite how horrible he has been in the past, when a player is that good the top teams will always take a gamble on them. It would be the same if it was Messi, Ronaldo or Bale. These are players that win you top trophies.

Remains to be seen. I think the other top clubs with money will look at other options now that can do the same at the highest level. Aguero, Falcao, Ibra, Levandoski can all do the same at the highest level without risk.

Falcao and Ibra have taken the fat pay checks in France. Levandoski is playing it safe in Germany. Ronaldo is the top player in the world right now. He was won titles in England, Spain and now has the Champions League.

Levandoski is going to the best club team of the last 3 or so years. Ibra belongs to a very good, strong side that has re built. Regardless of the reasons, these are the top players in the same bracket as Suarez. Teams will look at these players now imo. All are available for probably less money. I wouldnt be surprised if suarez only gets one offer.

Just out of interest, as a liverpool supporter, do you want him to stay or go ?

We'll be a weaker team without him over a full season. I've spoke to many season ticket holders recently and whilst everyone is appalled at his behaviour, when you're paying that much for a ticket you want to see the best players in the world playing for your club and winning you the top trophies. If he goes, fine, we just have to buy top quality players with the money. If he stays then we have a player who even after missing all those games for us, will probably get 25 goals next season.

Suarez has only helped Ajax to 2 trophies, a domestic league and cup, neither of which are among Europe's top prizes.

He has MAJOR baggage with little guarantee he'll increase your side's chances of winning anything.

Though i dont want to see Suarez in Barca, not for his reputation though... simply because I feel they dont need him, Id say its not necessary that a player commands incredible prices simply because what he won before. Look at Gareth Bale... he had won nothing with Tottenham in that logic to justify the fact he was a 100mil world record transfer.

If Barca want a No. 9 they should look for someone like Mandzukic, Luis is good but again... how they will get the best out of him alongside Messi, and Neymar is a mystery. All 3 perform best in the same free roam role. None of them are specialists in a more conventional rigid role.

True enough, I just don't see what Suarez has achieved in the game to be considered even close to one of the world's best.

One good season in a team that managed to finish higher than their hated rivals for a change might be enough to elevate him to God status in the red half of Liverpool and it undoubtedly won him some goodwill from the ABU's but stacked up against serial winners like Messi and Ronaldo it's nothing.

Ronaldo is the top player in the world right now. He was won titles in England, Spain and now has the Champions League.

Not anymore he's not.

Despite him being a United legend, I have gradually over the years begun to hate him more and more.
I was watching the Champions League final and he was shockingly poor whenever he got the ball and the way he bloated around thinking he's top **** after scoring a penalty like it was a winner. The worst part about it was that he didn't even celebrate with Ramos or Bale despite scoring crucial goals. Another example is during the end of the Portugal vs USA game. He just walked into the tunnel without thanking the fans or shaking the hands of the other players. Even though that's the way he is, it's unacceptable for his as a captain to do those kinds of things.

rant over

Well if Suarez is damaged goods and isn't a good a player as some claim him to be, then if Liverpool do get £80 million for him it's a great deal by the Reds.

He is a good player, but there's a difference between good and the level that Messi and Ronaldo are at.

If you get £80 million, it's a great deal, just cross your fingers that Rodgers spends it wisely. The last thing Liverpool need is another Andy Carroll.

That's the problem for us though. If we sell Suarez there's no-one close to his level that we could buy. All the top strikers are at big clubs on hefty wages and would never come us regardless. We just have to hope that Rodgers uses the money to build a better quality squad, especially the defence and players who can score goals.

It was the same for us at spurs with Bale. We could never get anyone close to do what he did week in week out. On paper we spent well but we brought to much and lost our british core which I think is important in the prem. Im hopeful tho. Eriksen did well and we have yet to see Lamela who has so much talent.
I did read he did the same at roma, hardly played the first season then went on to be one of their best players. Hopefully Poch can get the best from him.

As for Suarez, I hear what your saying. I think id take the money and strengthen. Liverpool have always had great and brought brilliant strikers. Fowler, Owen, Torres and Suarez over 20 odd years has been superb.
Lalana sealed today as well. Great player.

On a side note, I cant believe one of the big clubs snapped Lescott up! both spurs and Liverpool have struggled at the back . Seemed like a no brainer to me.

Judging by the World Cup and Premier League last season defending has become something of the past. Attack is the way forward. I'd love Liverpool to learn how to defend properly though. :lol

Barca are ready. Already selling shirts with his name on

Despite what you guys think about Suarez I find what they're doing highly disrespectful considering he's not even signed for them yet. They're becoming more and more like Real each year.

I see that yesterday. Dont think it matters what people think of Suarez, its totally disrespectful towards Liverpool FC

Barcelona are just as sleazy as Real Madrid when it comes to tapping players up.

Also,

Where did that transfer ban disappear to?

I guess a few envelopes full of cash reached the right pockets.
