But now is not the time to judge SSC with so many changes going on. The hobbits with the co-HT bodies, the new Pro body, the armor body coming out - this is really a renaissance for SSC 1/6 that will filter through all the 1/6 lines eventually, SW included.

I'm betting people are glad that it's SSC that has GiJoe instead of HT - they will be on the Pro body, which is better than the HT body and they'll probably only be $80-90 instead of $130-150.

But this will not become an HT vs. SSC thread - I'm just saying that the gap in quality is narrowing between HT and SSC.

You are certainly right, Dave. I wholeheartedly agree. I like that things are getting closer between the two, and for SSC prices... that makes me happy. I like to buy my regular figures via SSC, my super intricate figures via HT.

If it were just HT, I would not have as large a collection and I would be much choosier on my figures.

It did be like end of the world for me, if SSC stop making SW 1/6 scale figures. :wacky

Its a win/win for Hasbro. They need to produce figures cheap with huge runs and they let SSC produce the accurate stuff and just get the check with no investment.

I'm pretty sure Hasbro will probably rehash some 12" figures for the new clone wars show, such as Anakin (New head sculpt and Vader's shoulder armor), Dooku, Obi Wan (probably in armor) and maybe battle droids.

In my eyes HT is SS. One is a cheese burger and the other is a cheese burger deluxe.

I mean... SS is mommy and HT is daddy. They are bed fellows.

They are rockin' the proverbial trailer...

They are snoozed up together in a great snog...

They are dancing the horizontal huchi-cuchi...

They are making babies.

Clear now? :naughty

So like I'm Sideshow werkin' me mojo an' schmoozin' Hot Toys into me sack and making some wubbidy wubbidy and out comes this Prometheus and armored body and little hobbit body.

If only we could get some female action outta the love fest.

Hobbitses are the lovechildren.

Regarding Hasbro, I think the worst thing for me that will come if they got the license back would be to see all the rehashes of ANH Luke and Han and Obi-Wan etc. All the characters that they've already done and SSC has done better.

I would love to see Hasbro take on other characters that maybe SSC will never do, but Hasbro could with their resources.

Stuff like a 21B or Amamaman or Yakface. Maybe an upgraded wampa or even a bantha. How about Nexu or Reek?

Anyway, I think a big part will depend on how the 12" Indy stuff does. I don't hit the stores as frequently as I used to in the 90s but it seems some of that stuff is sitting.

It would be the most profitable busness decision for hasbro to make their own 12 inch figures, and let sideshow continue to make 1/6 collectables.
I do not see them telling sideshow to stop. lets look at it this way.
You're hasbro, you have the lucasfilm toy liscense, you make figures/vehicles/playsets/ whatever. AND you get FREE MONEY from sideshow whenever they make a 1/6 figure at high end prices, just becuase you let them make them. Would you tell sideshow to stop?

I agree. Its actually uncertain whether Hasbro's 1/6th toys were even profitable. There was a reason they cut all 1/6th toys out until the recent Indy figs.

Hasbro 'Evaluating' the 12 inch line?

An interesting snipet from one of the many Hasbro Q&A'a last week.....

Will Hasbro make 12" Star Wars figures again?

Answer: It's something we are evaluating, but we don't have a decision on whether we will pursue. In the meantime, we are enjoying the tremendous work that Sideshow is doing with the 12" figure line.

mmmm interesting.........
