Well when they said it 'promises to be the best likeness to Robert Patrick ever' they weren't lying. It is the best likeness to Robert Patrick that's ever been done of the stuff I've seen. If they had said it would be a 'perfect likeness' then I'd say they were wrong. But the 'character' is most definitely here.
I love the hair. I dunno what it is with me and hair, I'm always commenting on hair accuracy, but this does look better than the weird hair on the HT version. I also love that EB doesn't idealise. If an actor has a mole or a pockmark they will sculpt it in. That's an extra layer of authenticity one can appreciate. So 'character' nailed, hair nailed, skin flaws nailed, already better than Hot Toys right there.
I like that the 'metal' sheet that goes over the stand to recreate the boot-glitching scene is in fact a metal. Its cold to touch. And the metal rod is also in fact metal, very cool.
I'm inclined to agree with Kbx82 that when you get it in hand it becomes a harder decision what head to go with. The BD and donut head will set him apart more on a shelf but the fully clean look demonstrates his superiority over the ****ed up T-800. I dunno, I'll probably try a few things with the clean look first before ultimately settling on BD as my default display.
A minor issue with mine that I've discovered so far is the index finger on the 'no no' hand seems to be scuffed and lost some paint and detail around the tip.
I'll post some pics later if they come out in any way good.
