True, but if the DX10 is anything to go by, the prototype-to-production transition won't do much for HT. I actually thought the DX10 proto looked slightly better than the final, at least in terms of age and less-wonky eyes. Gimmicks are great until they compromise the sculpt. At that point, each person has to make a decision regarding what they value more -- the sculpt or the overall package.

Kind of a bummer in a way. Both companies have gotten themselves in a rut where they can't deliver across the board. With HT it's more tragic since we've been spoiled by near-perfect releases like the T1 and original T2 (whose sculpt didn't seem quite so bad at the time; very few criticized it).

See i'm different, I see a completely improved sculpt in every way. The only reason the DX10 wouldn't be labelled a complete package would be because of the MMS117. It'll always be criticized for taking too many times to "get it right"

I own both the DX10 and the EB clean version. Love em both.

The usual whining going on that accompanies any release, be it hot toys or enterbay. People just won't be happy until we get the real actors jumping out of the box and firing real amo. This is a stunning piece and it's already been pre-ordered.

:yess: :lol :hi5:

I'm hoping the pics I'm still working on will be 'mind-changers' for those of this view or of the view that MMS117 is a better sculpt.

Fair enough. I'd chalk that criticism of HT taking too many times to get it right up to their milking of the license. Setting aside the sculpt (which I personally don't think is all that great, but to each their own), both the MMS117 and DX10 have a good feeling of completeness. Galleria Mall with the first, Cyberdyne with the second. Can't ask for much more than that IMHO.

On an unrelated note, roughly how soon after the release date on the eBay product page would we receive our figures from timcent88? A week or two?

I've seen some solid mind-changing pics on the DX10 already (also on EB's first T-800, since you know how I feel about that head :lol). From multiple angles though, it's just odd. I agree the structure is better than the MMS117, but there are still issues with it. I don't think HT's really nailed Arnold besides the T1 and arguably Dutch.

pics look awesome to me - yes there are a few little things that made me wonder abit but all in all im buying this no doubt to sit next to my clean version.

any reason why a heap of you guys are buying from timcent off e-bay and not directly through enterbay? buying it off EB is cheaper, pls explain? cheers

Its not quite perfect, no but I do feel its the best we've gotten, possibly better than the first Enterbay figure. And I can't consider either the T1 or Dutch sculpts 'nailed' since they suffer from the very same issue I always criticised MMS117 for - short, overly square face.

I'm looking forward to those pics.

Thanks, I thought I'd have them up by now but I've been getting a bit OCD on them, trying to get angles and lighting a closer match to the film every time I look at them - sometimes with success and sometimes to no avail and its time wasted.

My experience with timcent88 (EB Batman) was pretty good actually. Once shipped it took just over a week to arrive. He's stated that he'll be shipping on the 27th, right after the holidays.

Magnificent figure and I'm surprised its 'only' $375 ....

But I don't know what to make of it really.... I own the original HD T-800 and was planning to sell. I only want one Arnie on my shelf and I was expecting this one to come with 2 jackets ...or at the least changeable arms to get both looks.
Don't really want to have to own 2 at once to get the looks I want.

Hot Toys has done way more for doll collecting than Enterbay has.

They have a more impressive resume with over two hundred releases.

Enterbay has made a couple of good figures, I'll give them that (this 1/4 thing was clever), but the whole Men in Black travesty is far worse than even Hot Toys' biggest **** up (the ridiculous oil DX 02 situation).

"better" is subjective. A lot of folk (including me) like their pieces to look life like as opposed to action man toys. A lot of folk just want likeness, then the extreme folk want everything.

There's no doubt the DX13 sculpt is the better likeness (of Arnold, not necessarily that character) next to the MMS117, that's not even in question. But not everyone just like's sculpts on likeness alone and that's where the problem lie's with these comparison threads.

For a lot of collectors, skin tones, shape, the way the light reflects and and a whole host of other details go into decisions on "better" sculpts.

If it's any interest I just sold my MMS117 for $250 on Ebay and it had 37 watchers (I'm getting into the 1/4 game). So it's clear that there is and always will be a high interest in both versions.

Enterbay needs to employ more people for their CS department. And, I don't know, maybe not take the whole team to comic conventions when they should be staying in HK dealing with customer complaints. Hiring a handful of guys for QC would be nice too since I doubt they have anyone.
The icing on the cake would be Bill changing his attitude of course, but that'd be like asking water not to be wet.

It's a pity. You look at figures like Rambo and the BD T-800 and you wish someone else made them. Best thing you can do is not buy direct.

The word 'whining' gets bandied around a fair bit. For example your post, which attempts to delegitimise constructive criticism of this release by framing it in terms of 'whining', has a distinctly whiny hue to it. This post, whining about your whining, completes the circle.

Never used this smiley before but now would be a good time.

I'm looking forward to this. I'm gonna go line up at Enterbay on Christmas Eve. I might even bump into Timecent a.k.a. that guy that picked up 50 boxes :lol

That said, I sorta agree with some of the complaints. Once i read the specs, i understood why the BD arm looks so ugly. Its probably because they decided to use metal. They should have made it shorter, and left it with plastic, and they should have kept the sleeve of his jacket longer to cover it. oh well.. no big deal.

I might display mine with the other normal arm and have this BD in full Cyberdine mood, mini gun and all. I like my original version the way it is with sunglasses and shot gun. Its the classic T2 look.

As for screen accuracy... i say:
