I've unfortunately damaged the base beyond repair! So, questions:

a) Is the base on the T-800 the same as the T-1000? I notice it looks the same,but the T-1000 has the option of swapping out the flooring grate. Presumably this means they're not quite the same afterall(???)

b) What is a fair price to ask for a second-hand BD T-800 without the base? I'd assume that it'll take quite a hit in value if I sell on Evilbay.But, if I can recover something I suppose.

c) I will not spend £450 for the sake of getting a new base and spares! I won't, I won't I won't... XD

You'd prob have to go below $300 since you can get this guy brand new on ebay or amazon or walmart.com for $300 new free shipping.

Lighting makes the difference between a good, and Bad picture using the same camera.

Anyone know why my clean T-800 is shorter than the BD? I thought they were the same bodies besides the bd parts?

That's strange. No idea why. Maybe it's something to do with the foot pegs or knee joints? Try looking at those.
