Nice close up pics but very very distorted due to lens...in hand VERY different looking- color very wrong because of flash/light source. Somewhere in this huge thread is a couple decent pics of the sculpt taken in better lighting/less distortion..!

Distorted photo or not, that doesn't change the fact that the sculpt looks like crap in real life. Poor paint application as well.

1/4 has so much more attention grabbing presence over 1/6.

So it's like gential size, then? :wink1:

1/4 scale figures also have much more shelf-hogging presence, methinks. :monkey2

it should have a removable cowl or some other feature that was not possible to achieve in 1/6.

So the utility belt can't even be opened or utilized in poses?
Seems like a lost opportunity . . .

When I first got the 1/4 EB, there was huge huge temptation to sell most of my 1/6, keep only a handful, and use that money to start start collecting 1/4 from now on.
Its just jaw-dropping to see a figure in that scale.
I'm over that now.
1/4 is very impressive cause of its presence and detail.
Basically, the only drawback now is comparing it with my OC.
But as far as all the rest, had to do a huge :slap for even thinking about selling my 1/6 cause it is still the best scale cause you can get almost the same amount of detail and still have so much space to pack in a detolf.

Also, with 1/6 being so mainstream, you're not gonna get 1/4 Rainman, Iminime, or other custom figures anytime soon.
Basically, for the next several years, you're limited to only mainstream figures such as Avengers or Batman.
1/4 scale is still in untested waters, sure I will pay $400-500 dollar for batman, but no way I will pay $400 for Bane or other not as popular characters, I believe as far as non mainstream characters, collecting in 1/4 scale will be a resounding "No" to average collectors.
it requires too much space and too expensive.

Cap at $400, probably...Nick Fury at same price...Heck no.
Thor at $400, sure...agent Couson at same price....Nope
People are already torn with $230 X:3 Wolverine, imagine when the regular price is $450.
It seems exciting right now cause EB released 2 of one of the most beloved characters, but when you start getting into not-so-popular characters, over $400 for a figure is a lot of money.
I see this scale reserved only to well-known, and popular characters, everything else will still be dominated by 1/6.
I dont see 1/4 edging 1/6, even in the next 10 years.

Ok, this I can subscribe to.

Very well said.

Well said, remy. :lecture

My feelings exactly

Yeah, I never got why people all of the sudden wanted to ditch their 1/6 collection in favor of quarter scale. My collection consists mainly of 1/6 scale with about ten or so 1/4 scale pieces complementing them.

Methinks they can coexist together just fine. ;)

Some people are just stubborn minded. All or nothing thinking.

I collect both scales, but my 1/6 is my main collection.

Point be: If i have a 1/6 & 1/4 Arnie, and only a 1/6 Stallone, you can easily tell who i like more.

I feel like if someone believes that 1/4 scale is more attention grabbing... then they mine as well go to 1/2 or 1/1 scale instead. Heck, do 2/1 scale!

1/4 has so much more attention grabbing presence over 1/6.

This. I find the general detail much better too, both in terms of sculpt and paint. I'm less worried about buying rubber bodies thanks to it being thicker and more robust, i like the metal accessories with individual bullets and working mechanics, i like the more accurate material use, but mainly, i like that the fabric hangs and folds in a much more natural way thanks to the size. In all it makes for a much more impressive figure.

Since i bought the T-800 it has dominated my collection, not just in terms of scale, but in terms of quality, and now i want more of that. If it,s at the expense of my 1/6 collection, so be it.

I think it's pretty much as Remy described. 1/6th is the best scale for a large collection. It just has more cool about it, because they are smaller, than add few key 1/4 icons mixed in looks brilliant. There are certainly only a handful of characters I would even think about in 1/4.

Just got mine. My first reaction 'Impressive!'

I have serious problem with magnet and cape clips.

Good to hear it arrived Agen. Were you waiting long?
After you take a good look at it, would you mind sharing you're overall opinion?

Photos when you can? :)

Hope you enjoy your figure.

:exactly:

Can't wait to pose 1/4 EB Batman and PF Darth Vader at both sides of the TV room :yess:

I would be the same as Rorywan. 1:6 Scale for big collecting and 1:4 for the odd Icon.

Outside of Batman, Predator (1and2) and Terminator, I cannot imagine I will be buying any 1:4 for other licenses.
Though, a 1:4 scale Iron Man Mark III would be sweet.
I love the 1:4 scale but there is only so much room in the apartment.

My EB Batman is now shipped.

When do you guys think it will arrive?
