Hi
I am beginner on painting. May I know if I can use gloss black pen to paint the gauntlets to ease the job?

Thank you

I highly suggest not doing that.
I remember using gloss pen back when I was modding 6" figures and I got unfavovarable results cause the colors are sometime uneven.
I highly suggest following what is recommended.

It's a real easy mod so its will have better results.

Is this figure worth getting to put alongside the new HT 1/4? Some people speculated that HT would do a version of their own and I found this available at my local store for $300 so I was wondering whether it was worth it or not, or if this figure has some flaws that might dissuade buyers?

You can't compare it with the HT version mate but I can tell you that's the best Batman figure even if you like the Batman Begins movie !

I have been buying figures for barely two years now, so I'm still new to it.
I don't really "collect", I just buy what I like if I can afford it without any particular collection in mind.
As a matter of fact I just got this figure today, I'm still getting used to the very stiff joints, mostly ankles and wrists.
I plan to mod it a bit, so the gauntlets are in my future.
The only problem with this Batman I haven't seen mentioned yet is the legs.
They are skinny and misshaped (bow legged), I'll have to do something about that.

Congrats on picking him up. The wrist joints on mine are still very stiff and I'm concerned with cracking the seams on the forearm if I force it. He looks good, but with the various mods mentioned in this thread (glossing the gauntlets, adjusting the cape clips, padding the traps and cod piece, ties to lower the belt/ trimming the foam around the torso), I think he can look great.

Regarding the legs, it's tough to work at the joints because the suit is so restrictive. If you have any other issues or questions, feel free to post them.

For $300, I think that's a bargain! Mine had issues such as glue residue on the suit, a missing magnet on one of the compartments, and paint flecks on the cowl. But they were relatively minor and I was able work through them. Just watch out for the uneven legs as that may be more difficult to fix with the restrictive bat suit. Maybe the shopkeeper could let you examine the figure before hand?

^ Christ, I hope not! That figure is a POS.

In all seriousness, I don't own the figure but I heard the suit was tops.

It's great, yeah. Only way I can describe it would be like a rubber case you would get for an iPhone. Really smooth, flexible and 'clean' looking. Weird description I know.

This guy looks top notch. Even straight out of the package he looks great. I'm not sure I would ever go 1/4 scale with my figures, but I can say I would get this over the Hot Toys 1/4 any day.

I can tell the HT one is a figure in photos easily, this one actually looks like Bale in the suit.

The suit is made from Silicon(e),the same material used for iphone/ipad protectors. As for the grade of the material,I don' t know but its a lot more durable then any HT rubber suit!^_^

The suit is made from a very high quality silicone material. Feels smooth to the touch and isn't a dust magnet either. The whole figure itself is awesome. Not perfect, but you can make it near perfect with just a few simple mods. It's one of the few pieces in my collection that I actually like/enjoy more the longer I've had it. Easily one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

Though I don't have EB's 1/4 figure....but I would say EB does not use Silicone for the suit .... I can run XRD atomic analysis easily enough and I'm almost certain there would not be Si atoms in the suit material.

Gotta ask some advice, should I sell up my DX11 DX12 and mms 67 to get this guy and the eb joker??? Been pondering for a while and cant decide!!

Yes. Join us!

Just be aware, that it is the beginning of going down a very slippery slope. :lol

I'm tempted, not a huge bale batman fan but damn this figure is awesome
Bbts has it for $375

Only other issue is that I don't have any 1/4 scale, 4 1/6th scale figs(although hulk is close to 1/4)

Just changed this up again, different cowl / mouth combo and a different pose.

Just friggin awesome.

Careful about getting him from BBTS. Someone on the boards mentioned that a lot of EB 1/4 batman figures recently purchased from BBTS have been coming with QC issues. One theory was their current stock of the figure consists mainly of customer returns that they're selling as "new." Not sure how much truth there is to this, but I just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to look somewhere else for the figure.
