IF that's the price at BBTS, why wouldn't you just buy it from EB? For $395 inc. shipping? Customs?

That's why I was asking if the BBTS price included shipping, but I dont think it does.

The fact I'd be charged right away is the dissuading factor for me. Don't have anything in paypal and need a bit more time to lower my existing CC bill.

Exactly. I dont think I can afford to be charged right away.

I'm going to have to curb it with my purchases soon. I think I'm hitting a plateau in high end collecting. The prices are going to kick my ass right out of here. I mean really, it's going to have to end sooner or later.

This is what I have on order.

- Hot Toys Reeve Superman ($210)
- Hot Toys Toy Fairs Batman Begins ($224)
- Sideshow Boba Fett ($175)

- Enterbay T-800 ($400)

- Hot Toys Batman ('89) ($900 something between the two)
- Hot Toys Joker ('89)

TBD for 2012

- Hot Toys '89 Batmobile ($500 plus dollars)
- Hot Toys DX 2.0 Joker ($200 plus dollars)
- Hot Toys Captain America USO Rescue ($170 plus dollars)
- Enterbay Joker ($350 plus dollars)
- Enterbay Batman ($350 plus dollars)

I can certainly say right now more than half of the above are going to be canceled/not bought at all. Fett is probably going to go once Superman and Begins Batman ships and even though Captain America would be nice, I'm not even that much of a fan.

With possibly even more Batman, Terminator, and more Hot Toys Star Wars I won't be able to keep up. No way. It's going to come down to Batman and Terminator but these seem to be the two licenses that all these companies want to get out there.

How do some of you seemingly buy everything that comes along? The Iron Man figures, Predator figures, Bruce Lee, Avatar, Indiana Jones, Batman figures, Enterbay, Hot Toys, statues, customs etc. I would think even the most wealthy people here would have some trouble eventually due to the sheer number of stuff that is coming.

lol yeah the preorders are killing me too.

I also have a similar map of purchases/preorders ahead. Already have $1000 worth of preorders pending to be charged.

Remainder of 2011
Hot Toys Resident Eveil: Afterlife Alice ($149) PO'd
Hot Toys Superman ($210) PO'd
Hot Toys Batman Begins Bruce Wanye ($225) PO'd
Enterbay T-800 ($400) - Still on the fence about this as I don't want to be charged right away either. Otherwise I would have preordered it already.

2012
Hot Toys Batman 1989 ($225) PO'd
Hot Toys Joker 1989 ($245) PO'd
Hot Toys Batman Batmole 1989 - $400? $500? Oh lord...
Enterbay 1/4 Dark Knight ($350+) Very intent on purchasing
Enterbay 1/4 Joker ($350+) Also very intent on purchasing

I hear you. I also think the hobby has changed. Especially with Hot Toys - its not one figure every few months now...more like several figures every month and they all look good in their own way. Which is why staying disciplined about it is even more important than ever. Because of this I've had to change how I order figures and what I collect. I didn't realize how much money I had spent this year till I started adding up the tally of POs and to me the numbers seemed outrageous for a hobby. Which is also why I have sold a number of my figures that I never really should have ordered to begin with. And often I see a lot of folks on these forums doing the same...I used to get caught up in the hype and PO the day things would become available but now I'm more selective and wait till the last minute and often I pass because by the time that figure is released something that I want even more might have been announced. Also, in hand pics usually roll in well before most places sell out of POs. As an example Batman 89 looks amazing but I don't have to PO that now as it won't be released till March. I don't anticipate it selling out till probably Jan/Feb and last resort could always be to waitlist - which in my experience more often than not convert if you get on it before the figure starts shipping. I've found these things to have helped.

Back to this EB T800. I'm a huge Terminator fan and this looks amazing. If the production piece looks like this then it has surpassed the Hot Toys version in likeness easily. But still I'm going to pass. I find it to be out of my price range (which btw is set at 250 with shipping - no exceptions). Plus I have the HT version and I have no intention of collecting 1/4th scale figures. The same will be the case with the Batman and Joker that will follow - I know they will be hard to pass but the 1/6th representations of those figures by HT are very well done and I'm content with what I have.

Just my 2..or maybe 3 cents :)

I earn a fair amount but the only way I can afford the hobby us by sticking to the line I love most

Sensible approach. Its easy to get wrapped up in this hobby and let it take over your life like a drug buying every new release that pops up.
I love the way you've just stuck to a single franchise. My approach is a little broader basing my collection on a variety of my very favourite franchises, but in principle similar to yours in so far I reign myself in and dont go outside of that mandate. Its hard work though :panic:

I only have Batman/Bruce Wayne on PO for the remainder of the year.

2012 - I'll likely get whatever The Dark Knight rises line has to offer.. Probably Batman 89 as well as my brother is a big fan of that and it would make a good birthday gift. Solid Snake is the other one I hope to hear something about and pick up soon. That's all that I seem interested in at the moment. Should keep the credit cards fairly occupied.

If I can share my experiences with recent EB stuffs, is that do not PO these from them.

If you must, PO it from your local retailers. As the first batch usually have more QC issues. And that judging from the last 3 items I have POed from them (Ip Man, WOTD 1/4 statue, GOD behind the scenes) all have QC issues and doesnt look like the prototype that they showed for taking orders.

I'm interested in this one, but theres no way that I'm gonna PO this one. I'll personally wait and see some in hand pics before deciding whether to get this or not.

I dont mind to pay 10-20% and buy this when they are in stock just as an insurance, though judging with the current trend, I doubt that theres gonna be much differences in the PO price and the in stock price later.

Same here, and even within those, budget is tight.

For me, at this point, my new buys are confined to:

- Godzilla
- Batman (Burton & Nolan)
- Terminator (Mainly 1 and 2)
- Stallone

A few random things here and there, but that's my focus.

Yes you are :lol:nana:

$400 + shipping is pretty ridiculous imo. I'm gonna have to flip a Batman figure to be able to get this.

My collection is mainly focused on Terminator.
@azurepred: the price is ridiculous. And im considering flipping one of my figures aswell.

I'll pass, as much as great as the prototype looks its vastly expensive for a product from a company with an iffy reputation on production models. I'll stick to my 1/6 HT T2 Arnie; fits in my display without a problem.
