You just can't please everybody :dunno
I personally think they are great, and both sculpts have potential for some fantastic kit-bashes.

Only gripe I have is being :impatient: til they get here!

Ok...with past experience of doing body mod., i had give a a go with the new EB body. Unlike to their earlier body with 24hrs Jack, this time, little more works are required and i am please with the result.:yess:

Too bad the paint and sculpts don't look as good as the prototypes we were shown. The suits looks pretty cheap, too.

You really think this paint isn't as good as anything HT does? It looks ____ing real mate. That's an in hand picture. :D

It does look great with the sunglasses, but without them the paint and even the sculpt looks less detailed than the promo pics we saw a few pages back. It could just be the pics, though.

I got the HT Red Skull yesterday and it looks a lot better than the pics I saw -- even OMG's. The paint on the Weaving sculpt is stunning. Even the Red Skull has a lot of subtle detail that doesn't show up in most pics I've seen.

That's another figure i need to get further down the line. :yess:

You know i take a lot of pictures of my collection and even though they look good and OMG pictures look great. They often don't show just how awesome they look to your own eye. I say that all the time in my thread. That picture above shows how good the skin looks though.

It seems a lot of people do judge figures from pictures alone and that to me is crazy! You will miss out on a lot of cool stuff if you make your choice from pictures alone, cos i'm not being nasty but there are a lot of crappy pictures out there. :lol

Can you blame them though? Who wants to just blindly spend hundreds of dollars in hope that the final outcome will be to their liking? While a picture may not perfectly capture the product, it certainly comes close enough to warrant basing decisions on, so long as they have been well considered. To me if people are getting swayed one way or the other by basic pictures then that suggests they, like myself, were second guessing the purchase anyway.

Yeah that's a good point. :exactly:

It's just i posted some really good pictures like the one above a few pages back and people just seemed to pass them over for the crappy pictures that were posted. I don't know if it's because they don't want to pull the trigger or just to say they don't look as good as what EB posted.

Most figures get a video review now anyway so you won't be buying blind if you do a little searching. :)

People hated this picture

I am really fortunate that i live in Hong Kong. Whenever in doubt, I can just go to the store and look at the prototype directly especially HT. Not so sure I would be so into collecting if I couldnt see them. Figures are expensive, but the shipping fees and tax are the real ______.

Also, not only do you get your figures earlier and not have to send parts for replacements if needed, collectors here get to inspect their figures before buying.

EB is especially good at this aspect, as they don't shy away of opening 2-3 sets for you to choose the one you like the most. They let you feel comfortable in picking the one you like. HT lets you check as well, and its always easier to check the DX's since they dont have the plastic covering. However HT has the worse service ever, where they let you check but they give you grief and attitude problems.

Some people do go over board though... taking up to 10 minutes going through 3-4 boxes before picking one. Its especially fustrating if the line is really long, and it takes +15 minutes to finish a customer. We call these guys Coroners - like doing an autopsy/super thorough check with every figure.

I have a friend from Hong Kong that says he doesn't like going to the HT store because he feels the staff have an attitude. I never knew they let you inspect the figures though. That's pretty cool but i can see that there would be problems with people taking their sweet ass time, while checking the figure.
