Just because people don't do something the way you would do it doesn't entitle you to jump on them when they do something different.

When you're doing a character like Bourne, who was a character in a book long before he was a character in a film, why should everyone stick to the movies for looks!? The character can have a life in peoples' imaginations away from the books and films. Surely people have a right to express that imagination. It is, after all, that same imagination that gave rise to the character in the first place.

Everything is open to interpretation, when Robert Ludlum first wrote the Bourne Identity he didn't see any specific actor in his head when he wrote it.

Bourne is an everyman, that's why it worked so well

CHEERS!

I want to contradict you here roger, we want to make a bourne because we liked the matt damon bourne. But to say it isn't accurate, like ray suggests, is kinda wrong too. Look at my comparision above. The only difference is that the jacket has buttons instead of a zipper (collar is like in the movie, you can see pics of bourne wearing the collar up). I mean, come on :I

I'll leave mine as it comes, with, EB's clothes as I agree with the fact that it is the charater that matters, not a particular moment of a movie.

Still, Roger, I really don't think we can compare the character from the book and the movies. It's a bit like Dexter: same basis but then they went into completely different direction.

I think that I want my Bourne as he would look after the Trilogy...

Yours is being shipped Monday my friend :wink1:

And there you have it, the character with a life outside the movies. No need to worry about accuracy there. Very true also about differentiations, there's nothing wrong with a bit of artistic license. The movie people will have used a lot of that anyway, so I don't see why we can't.

I'm sure whatever we come up with will be great whatever we use or don't use. And anyway, this is an Enterbay RM-4 thread, not a Bourne thread.

Rogerbee I shall look forward to your feedback of this figure when you've received yours as I've taken the plunge and managed to snag headless one on eBay for just over £20 (including shipping) which I'm sure will come in handy for some taller customs I'll be making in the future.

Errr, well...

You might have to wait a little while for that. I tried to do that leg modification on the one I got yesterday, I was successful with one leg, but, I snapped the foot off trying to do the other leg.

I've just ordered another RM-4 from OSB, and hopefully they will have one already in stock that they can send me!

That'll teach me! The new one is staying tall!

CHEERS!

Sadly not,

The peg that the ankle is attached to is broken. I tried gluing it but it was too flimsy and kept breaking.

I should have a new one by midweek anyway. I do have ideas, but, they haven't got me very far already.

Since I haven't got mine in hand yet, maybe what I'm gonna tell you wouldn't work, but I've had a few pegs repaired by drilling a small hole with a Dremmel tool in both broken parts, inserting a small metal rod or wire, and gluing back with epoxy glue.

Who knows, might work there... :D

Recieved mine the other day, hmm, it really has its downfalls. It could have been a bit better imo.

What I really like is the headsculpt, it's fantastic. Though that's where it ends for me. As for the body, well the height and complete lack of head and waist articulation just really put me off. The head movement range is pretty much what you get on a sideshow buck. It's a solid body though and for really tall characters it will come in useful!

Couldn't have said it better bud! The head sculpt really is amazing, if even a smidge oversized

Last night I was watching a movie and looked over at it on the table. His profile appeared silhouetted and it amazed me at how much it looked like Damon to the shape of his head alone!

And the people's eyebrow is much less troublesome in person. More and more I appreciate it as ome of the finer heads in my collection especially in terms of likeness. I can't even look at the loading toys one anymore.

The body will have it's uses one day. His legs are definitely too long to look natural but the shoulder to chest and waist ratio is more natural than even hot toys. I used it for my spock and it looks so great. Just his height and build and the hot toys adapter and hands fit great on him

In the end I put everything on a TTM 08 True Type, and I think it looks better. I gave my Sideshow Indiana Jones the RM-4, and now he's taller than he's ever been. I did have to file the neck post down quite a bit to fit it on the RM-4

I do have to say that the head sculpt and paintwork done to it are worth the price alone

Also I have been looking for a good bag for him to carry. Any suggestions?

It got a bit beyond being able to save it that way. Whatever, the replacement should be here within the hour.

I think Enterbay's reasoning behind the tallness of this body may be that they wanted their Asian figures to be shorter next to Western ones. Stand the current one next to Donnie Yen and the heights would be about right. They intend to use this body for Leon and the Onimusha character and Jean Reno is a tall chap, so it would work out right for him.

A lot of HT releases have beets which naturally makes the TT short. We probably wouldn't notice the difference quite so much if they all had boots over feet. I've just dressed a TTL 2.0 in gear which comprises DML boots over the feet, with the HS on it, it isn't that much shorter than the RM-4.

I shall leave my new body unmodded and be thankful that I can even get and clothe an Enterbay figure for the price.
