Yeah... I've heard the bait-and-switch term alot over the years but never really felt it... until now.

Still... hoping there's enough good here to make a suitable "sewer Penguin", perhaps a final Penguin who's all messed up and leaking green sludge. The dirtier the better on this one.

It certainly applies this time since he's literally different from head to toe: different sculpt and different boots.

I don't remember a bootleg that changed the sculpt - which seems to be the case as the mouth looks crooked instead of the symmetrical promo. The boots are definitely different, which would have saved Eternal some of their production costs.

One thing to mention, BigBreda says his photography isn't great due to his camera. When he photographed LIM's 1/12 Joel and Ellie they messaged him to say he shouldn't have showed such a bad misrepresentation of them!

Possible bad photography, like Asta mentioned, is the only thing keeping me from having a Chicken Little attitude about this one. Although it’s obvious that the overall quality really dropped off. Such a shame.

Being the only picture, I am holding off making full judgement until I see some more. And I do appreciate BigBreda and Kit posting the picture, good or bad, its good to know and start managing expectations.

I'm even more eager for more pictures now. Too bad Breda can't get that review up sooner. Really going to need a video look at this one.

It looks like everything changed. They aspired to the custom they used in their promo photos, then failed to match it.

He's actually different from hat to toe, since the hat has also lost it's characteristic indented shape.

Looks ok in Breda’s pic. The paint appears to have suffered quite a bit from proto to production but it’s only one pic so we’ll see.

Yikes. Looks like what you would see from a Star Ace figure in terms of downgrade here, maybe even worse honestly with all of the clothing changes. Don't think better photography is gonna change much but hoping for the best for those of you that already paid for it. The prototype looked too good to be true for the price they were charging for unfortunately. The wait for Mars version continues..

Man, the more differences you guys point out the more bummed I get.

And they definitely changed or tweaked the sculpt as one eyebrow used to be arched a lot higher and now they're both even. Makes him look a lot less sinister.

Glad I passed. Hopefully Mars will feel emboldened by this figure sucking and fast track their Penguin.

Looks like it could be the same sculpt, just that the new paintwork and lighting has washed out the details and made the mouth look different.

His teeth look dirtier than the toothpaste advert effect of the first photo.

Sounds like his head is like Premier's Immortan Joe - soft enough to plug the hair into.

In proper lighting he could well be salvageable, barring the misshapen hat, and his downgraded boots.

The boots look like they were sculpted originally, but either with fake laces at the top, or real laces throughout like the old Dragon Models sculpted mountain boots from their Hasan Malnar figure.

I didn't. Bailed on the thought of getting both this and Mars version when the closing date was getting near with Kit. Too much doubt in the final product not holding up with only a rough Vulture figure under their belt. It's kind of crazy how this is an even bigger downgrade than whatever problems their first figure had. I guess they're working in reverse in terms of quality output here.

On the plus side, at least this figure was cheap...? A scam none the less but a cheaper scam than what StarAce charges.

It's an unwritten law though, that first photos must be distorted and washed out by flash photography.

It's not over until the fat bird sings in hand...

Wow does that sculpt look super soft now, and completely lacking in detail. It might be salvageable with a repaint, but it's going to take a lot of work.

Just massively disappointing.

For the price what were you guys expecting? HT and IA got us all spoiled here.

Fatsuit needs extra padding- easy mod
Sculpt needs a repaint, or at least a gray / white wash to tone down the pink

Hair looks too full, but that might just need futzing or even remove some if so.

The rest looks like simply fitzing to get the neck to sit proper (will definitely look better with additional padding)

For the price this isn't a train wreck like some people are making it out to be.
