Everyone's hair looks great. Mine was all smushed up against his head and it keeps trying to do a Trump comb over from the back. They also hacked away at one side while the other is as long as the shirt bib.

My Penguin has arrived and I am glad to say that it’s much better than I thought. Looks great on the shelf without too much effort. I purchased the $15 eBay hat and it fits like a glove. The new hat is in the pics on the right and the original hat is on the left. I used scotch tape on the inside of the hat so the felt material doesn’t bleed into the sculpt.
Which seller did you get the hat from? Looks much better.

I am definitely happy with the purchase and I am happy to have it in the collection for now…View attachment 668780View attachment 668781View attachment 668782
So, does that new hat fit like a normal glove or like the kind that O.J. Simpson wears? :lol Kidding, that looks much better. Can you move the hatband down? It looks a bit odd not being down near the brim.

All in all, not a regrettable purchase in the slightest.

The hat does suck though. They used too much felt over the solid structure and no amount of pinching or massaging did anything to change it for me.
I’ll be saving all hat action for Mars’ Mayor Penguin figure though so don’t mind not using this one.

The wrist joints are also very weak. Holding the umbrella up is quite a balancing act if that’s what you want to go for.

Also, his onesie is glued onto the body at the shoulders and around his gut. I’m not sure why they did that as it means you can’t adjust it very well to reduce the gappage around his neck or get it off him to add more padding to the body.

Pictures really do seem to inject a lot more colour into his face than is actually there. It’s sickly pale and there’s more detail than expected.
I don’t feel the need to do any work on this now I have it in hand- although a little facial touch-up certainly couldn’t hurt.
I’m just lazy and looking for excuses to continue being so.

The seller is from the US and the name is yahoo-hoo. Here is the link.

It's pretty tight in the fit department, but since the head is actually squishy, it works well. I can make it higher or lower on the head. Again, I am using scotch tape around the inside of the hat for less friction and to reduce damage, if any...

Haha your right I did too, this is why they never let me finish film school!

Have fixed it now so no one else will ever know of this embarrassment.

Any idea where one could find an equivalent body?

I've never seen another as short and fat as this one.

From my previous post, the closest thing I know of is this, and it's nowhere near close enough:

It was bitter sweet paying that invoice, but I have a suspicion that even out of the box he'll be quite effective once he's on display.

Seems to be a new body type as well. The only one like it that came to mind was the Worldbox AT018:

Penguin is shorter than the AT018 judging by the line up photo, and probably fatter, so there's value in the body considering the Worldbox costs over £50.

Line up spoilered because they all have their plastic winkies out. :lol

He's arrived, and he's even better than my "...suspicion that even out of the box he'll be quite effective once he's on display."

Straight out of the box, and all I've done to him so far is tease some of the hair out:

He's very hard to photograph because the camera flash obliterates the subtlety of the paint and the details in the sculpt.

Moving back and zooming in to cut down on the flash helps:

From normal viewing distance he looks really good, and it's only his boots that let him down.

The hair has something in it that clumps it together and gives it a greasy appearance, which is also more apparent in the shot taken from further away.

Awesome! This is all great to hear.

Hopefully mine will arrive today too, so I can also be pleasantly surprised by it in person!

Super happy with mine! Love everyone’s poses too. I want to display it with the umbrella open, but how does everyone feel about it long term? Will it rip or deform because of how strong the tension is?

I've barely futzed him yet, but wanted to see the full effect of the figure.

These shots were taken will full zoom to keep the flash from hitting his face too hard:

The camera isn't Cobblepot's friend. Without a light box or dedicated photography for lighting it would be impossible to show how he actually looks.

On full zoom focusing more on the face, and the flash begins to destroy reality:

For me it's really only the boots that let him down, as I can live with the coat being too short for movie accuracy.

Even the hat doesn't look too bad. The problem with it is that the fabric is baggy over the internal structure, which feels like a plastic cylinder, so it tends to crumple in places. However, since this is a sewer Penguin in grubby long johns a less than perfect top hat would be expected.

As a figure he does exactly what I hoped he would. It's a unique short, fat Penguin that looks like he could've stepped out of a dark '90s comic book into the 'real' world. That's what I wanted from the figure, rather than an homage to Batman Returns' DeVito as such.

I'm loving this figure, never thought we would see the day we got a Returns Penguin.

I agree he is not a great at having his picture taken. Very hard to really show the features he has as well as how the skin colour is alot more accurate in person. Hard to also show the subtle weathering in the clothes and umbrella. Even the boots have a subtle mud splatter so there has been some effort put in to the figure.
