OK...#279 arrived here in NY this morning....


I have to say, this is an absolutely stunnign piece...

But if this is te HARDEST DAMN THING TO GET OUT OF THE PACKAGE!

I almost broke it three times!
Was there no better way to secure this thing in the box and four layers of foam and ten thousand twist ties?
Jeez! And he is so delicate! Damn!
Lastly...I have no where to put him....I thought the top of my DOCENT cases would suffice, but alas it does not....I have to have him turned completely sideways to display him atop the cases I have....Ugh.

Great piece though.

No, there is no real thing. The CG inner cape pattern had no spaces like the stitching, and the diamond shape was much smaller. The inner cape color, thread color, and cape length issues are easy to look over, but the stitching should have been done better. Considering the outstanding job SS did with Ben's robe and Vader's cape, GG's inner cape should have been a sinch. It's easy to see where SS really took there time with the statue looking at all the detail, and a little less time with the cape by skimping on the inner detail. Had they treated it a little more than just an accessory, it may have been done correctly. Other than that minor issue, the cape looks fantastic!

I meant if there was a real thing. I think the stitching would look like that. I have to disagree that they skimpt on the details anywhere on this piece. IMO they did it correctly.:chew It's cool that you feel differently. It's all good. This won't affect my review of this piece any.
 
I still have absolutely no indication that Grievous is on his way. Maybe I'll be the last one to get him and end up with #1.

Actually, the edition numbers from the first batch seem to moving down now, from the 700's to the 600's and now to the 200's. There's no telling what these last shipments are going to be.

The good news is that I have been pre-authorized and it is now listed as "shipping soon" so I really hope I get some good news tonight...

Just put my Grievous together. It is a stunning piece. The PF Star Wars line just keeps getting better. Vader was excellent and so was Obi Wan. Lets keep them coming!
