Yeah I would have gladly taken an Ilia over Disco McCoy.

I thought I would spend some time posing these TMP characters together.

Decker is still in an old Mego uniform. Hopefully he will get a better one along with Spock within the next few months. Ilia looks less like an Imperial officer with shorter boots. I might give Sulu a black undershirt to pad out his uniform a bit but Ilia is on a silicon body and I don't think I will get a black bodysuit on under the uniform.

The rank insignia are too thick compared to Kirk, and the wrong ranks, which is annoying but I think I will wait until all the uniforms are in to fix them and department colours.

McCoy and Chapel might be a problem but Nanjin teased he might do McCoy's white medical uniform (TWOK version, I expect).

Overall, I think they will look good posed on a 3d bridge like the promo pics.

Wonderful and very impressive. I so wish Exo-6 has given us something like this. I would have been up for the whole TMP main crew.

I always knew getting TMP characters would be very unlikely and so was disappointed that the TMP figures we did get were not in uniform. If we get Ilia Probe, McCoy, and Chapel, I will be happy but I would prefer to finish these this year so if no joy, it's a custom Chapel sculpt and TWOK McCoy in custom (probably grey) uniforms.

I'm hoping to get a print of the rear gantry so I can pose the other figures. If a printed backdrop isn't coming though, that's a dilemma as the current print is the TWOK design and some of the stations will be in the wrong place. I guess it might be possible to just move Spocks station. Maybe I should check if the pieces are all the same size.

Ah shame. The rear station is separate but Spock's station is attached to the left turbolift.

Outfit: extremely difficult. We spent more time to develop this outfit than TWok Away Jacket. Difficult to believe isn't it? when McCoy outfit looked so simple.

McCoy outfit closes up at the back, NOT in the front. Making the front opening realistically will make him look toyish because of the thick fabric and seam.

So we made a fake front and close up the outfit from the back.

Why McCoy would cost more than Kirk and Spock? Because he needs a lot of non reusable molds. I won't make a McCoy without his rings. His ring hands need new molds and molds are SUPER EXPENSIVE!

Dr McCoy stubbornness of refusing to take off his "mother" ring earned my highest respect as a son.

The head sculpt. We had 2 artists worked on him. I see more McCoy after this refinement.

Body.... as usual a bankrupting part for any figures. Our profit was taken away because of McCoy's chest.

Understand this:
All things would cost us 2 times the money to achieve 1/2 the results achieved by the big boys because we have low volume. Out of all our figures, only TNG Picard has the normal quantities in 1/6 production.

We are a small producer. Everything are more expensive for us. EXO-6 only paid me twice in 4 years.

You can tell a lot of planning went into McCoy, he looks great. Not a version that I’m interested in but TMP fans should be thrilled with this one.

Disco McCoy is such a unique release that probably shouldn't exist. Can't wait to place him with Admiral Kirk!

Nanjin is very honest and forthcoming in his remarks here. Nobody should question whether this is a passion project, & the sales and profit are very clearly low. We're lucky to be getting what we do.

When all is said and done Exo-6 is an amazing achievement- looking forward to Riker, Worf & TOS!!

I still feel like the bodies they're using for McCoy are way too big. He was a VERY lean guy, so I hope that gets reflected better in the TOS figure.

Looks can be deceiving. I think it had to do with the opening in the front, that doesn’t open up all the way down the middle (no seam) and the original material they used was very easily smudged and became dirty looking.
