I just had a meeting with our Commanders. Info begins releasing on Monday.

Picard is at the 5 yard line, and the next Captain will do a 100 yards kick return after Picard scores his 8 points.

So make sure you know what you want and like, make decisions wisely, and DO NOT look back on the initial made decision. 95% people will “think” the other color is better and start to question their own decisions.

So, will this decision apply to TNG as well?

I suspect i have much more time to decide, but i’d like to get ready!

All of this is reinforcing to me to get the deluxe, make a choice, then stick with it. Nothing beats having the options in front of you to make the choice that's best for you. Any picture Nanjin or anybody else posts will be viewed through your equipment as well as your eyes, and how many times have purchases not quite looked the same in person? Heck, that's exactly why we're all stuck on this question to begin with. All we ever had were pictures on a viewscreen until people started making really authentic uniform repros.
I will add to this that though we are focusing a lot on gold vs avocado, we are not talking as much about velour vs doubleknit. You may find that you like one color better, but the opposing fabric, in which case you'll need to choose whichever makes you happier.... assuming you don't do deluxe all the way, of course. Nothing beats having it in hand, and once you (if you) do make a decision, don't look back.

The OS Command personnel standard being green-chartreuse totally f's with my ocd. other than his dress u. and wrap around, I need to see the main command as gold-yellow.
Doesn't mater (to me) that they were green-chartreuse on set. I was never on set.
I need to see them as the camera picked them up, and as it was broadcast into my retina and brain.
Unless you are including the same special light that turns the green-chartreuse velour into gold-yellow, then I will always have them illuminated using that bulb.

So what color were the Cage command and Where No Man Has Gone Before uniforms (on set)?

Any of these look green to you? They are all Avocado under different combinations of Lighting, camera, and monitor. I can capture 6-7 different shades of YELLOW with my phone camera but only able to capture the true Avocado color with 5500k Lighting with Grey Card corrected color balance camera (the first picture).

Any further historic arguments about the color can be easily found on line.

BTW, no S2 velour. The knit arent fine enough and freaking amazing dust gatherer. Only S3 miniature knit fabric will be used.

Not going into anything else but S3 standard uniforms. Simulated colors are all based on S3.

As much as I want a new TNG Picard I know it won’t be yet with the First Contact version coming soon.

You make a very valid argument here. Sounds like you will be happiest with the screen accurate version. I'll be opting for the deluxe version just because I like the idea of having more options. But in general, I love the QMx Kirk and Sulu I already have wearing the set accurate avocado tunics -- because as Nanjin says: they behave just like the real costumes by appearing different shades of gold more often than not under different lighting conditions (just like we remember them on the show).

I'm a Trekkie who lost interest in spinoff shows after TNG, so I haven't really watched new Trek since 2002 -- but I'll definitely be picking up Janeway, Sisko and Archer -- just because I know enough about those characters to appreciate them -- and because I love the quality of EXO-6's work.
