EXO-6 Star Trek "General Discussion" 1/6 Line

I just took a look on eBay for QMX Star Trek figures. I could not find many Kirk and Spock figures, just a few at very high prices, no McCoy, no Scotty and no Sulu. There was one Khan. When we do get a Kirk from EXO-6 I wonder if he would come with gold command top, green top and dress uniform or would they each be an individual release, same Spock ie with normal blue top plus dress uniform, Bones with normal blue top, dress uniform and medical top, Scotty with normal red top and dress uniform. I would think something like an Original Series Romulan would sell well, either a soldier with gold helmet or the male and female commanders, or all three!

From what I've seen, I don't think we'll be getting switch-out shirts. I think they'll be separate releases.

I dunno,
First Nanjin alludes to QMX drying out the market on TOS characters .
The remedy might be to release those characters in different uniforms than those supplied by QMX.
Or he’s afraid to make those characters at all. So would he try to sell the same character over X 3 ( at the same age and haircut, body type etc.) ?
Wouldn’t make sense if he believes there’s only a small market for what he believes are dried up characters ?
It may be reasonable to do what he did with Sisko and proposes with Pickard re jackets, vest etc. ( as confusing as the title designations are) “Deluxe”, “Essential” “Standard”. The higher end gets all three uniform tops worn by Shatner. The lower end gets the standard or the green wrap around.

I think at one point he alluded to doing swap out tunics. I’m wondering if there will be multiple options (set accurate, tv screen colors, and maybe deluxe versions of each with swap out tunics).

I am thinking how good the main three in dress uniforms would look on my shelf, nice have Scotty also with dress uniform. Also naturally the whole crew with their standard uniforms plus Kirk with the green top along with Bones and his medical top. I hope we get Chapel and Rand also. Would be nice to get M'Ress and Arex also. I will also be going for the Wrath of Khan era figures. I will carefully look at any TOS aliens but especially Romulans and Klingons.

As much as I like the idea of alternate uniforms such as dress uniforms really all I want from TOS is to finish off the crew in their main looks.

I feel like that’s what most of us collecting TOS particularly really want.

I mean I do get it in a way, but also it would be nice to get at least one crew member from TOS out. A new Kirk or Spock or someone.

I don't want to finish my TOS crew. I want to replace the QMX versions with EXO-6 versions along with the missing crew members, and the sooner, the better.

I'm a little concerned with the "5 year mission", because if true, we're already a good measure in, already.

I'm still holding on to my QMX versions just to be safe (and to make some customs, if EXO-6 comes through).

I guess it's possible that a lot of "up front" work (some sculpts, choosing bodies/material/manufacturers, prepping to hire staff etc.) was done before the clock started ticking on the 5 year countdown.

That way, things could theoretically (as you say) "ramp up".

Yeah, hopefully the first couple years have just been laying the groundwork and from year three onwards we’ll see more output.

I think once there are a variety of body types, outfits, and accessories made things should be able to move along faster. Then it’s really just the sculpts and any unique accessories for a lot of the characters.

I agree. We saw a lot of promising reveals on Tested including half of TNG, plus we were teased a Data and Worf not too long ago. It’s just a matter of “when” these restrictions (whatever it may be) on these lines get lifted. Exo’s turnaround has been nothing put impressive so they should release fairly quickly once production starts. It seems a lot of leg work has already occurred.

In the mean time I look forward to more ENT and DS9 releases to fill the void. My Archer on pre-order needs T’Pol and the rest of the gang to follow suit.

I've got faith in Nanjin, but yeah it is hard to see how there's still possibly enough time to fit in the complete crews for TOS, TNG, DS9 and ENT, finish off VOY, and give us the assorted TWOK, TUC, and Kelvin figures he's promised, not to mention all the villains and one-shot characters like Kruge or Andrea. And on top of all that the SNW and Picard S3 crews as well!

My wallet stands ready, but holy cow is that a lot of figures to try to release in three years.

I think he will be able to get there. Releases have been speeding up, Between now and End of year (3 months) we are looking at 4 or maybe 5 figures, plus a chair. Which is about half of what we already have gotten since Exo-6 started. On his FB page he's sharing that he's getting samples constantly, seems like weekly. Just today he teased Jadzia.

If he can keep increasing the speed like he has, we only need to worry about affording the figures we want in the limited window we have to order them.

I'm sure they'll be released eventually, but it is getting old.

As far as I know, Nanjin is waiting on final approval from CBS.
