Those prototypes look great! I haven’t seen any new Trek yet but I am planning on doing a month trail of Paramount + in order to see Picard season 3. Everything I have heard about it has been good so far.
I wouldn’t way too long on Season 3, way too many spoilers out there, it’ll ruin the experience for you.

Huh ? Not always sure what he’s saying. But … has the 5 year mission changed ? Fewer characters produced ? Don’t expect supply to meet demand ? (Cut 33 to 50 %) Expect prices to increase ? —- What happened to those “gifts” everyone was expecting ?

My question is this…
Is the demand he is wanting to cut the number after the preorder closes?
For example, let’s say Odo goes up for preorder. 1,000 people pay deposit and preorder. 300 additional figures are produced for retailers for customers who wait. Does he cut by 33-50% that 300 number?
It seems he has always wanted to not sit on backstock. It also seems like the current trend as Sideshow has been sitting on figures for months and in some cases years beyond the release date.

“I personally covering ALL risk around this red mark because I want to complete all ClassicTrek”

Perhaps they should focus exclusively on the primary series looks then.

While this is true - the other point is Picard is getting a good deal of very positive buzz from the majority of Star Trek fans so the time to put those in particular out is now before hype starts to die off and people go back to asking when the TOS figures that QMX didn't get to are coming.

With TOS specifically thats what Nanjin is avoiding, I know some people will be wanting to collect the entire crew from Exo-6 but between those who just wants to complete their QMX line up - too many conversations have gone down that road - and then those like me who would probably only pickup the main three if TOS are towards the end of the 5 year mission I don't have a problem with it - sculpts will be as good as they are going to get with Nanjin helming the company.

While I want to add the 5 Captain's I grew up watching to my shelves as soon as possible if Kirk takes a while longer its going to be worth the wait!

Valid point to capitalize on the current success of the season but the line I find most interesting is “Exo-6 is operating really far away from ideal condition”. Is the current release strategy not working? Too many possible reasons to really speculate.

I think a lot of interested collectors have largely been on the sidelines waiting for specific releases (TNG, TWOK, TOS). Seems like easy revenue given the high demand to occasionally drop a character from that set once every few months.

It seems like their sitting on some old stock, e.g. Discovery.

He's said that since pretty much the start - he was saying that on this forum at some point that they are making decisions which no other 1/6 manufacturer would ever do as he is only thinking short term rather than for survival.

Oddly it sounds like Vadic's followers and the fact that "evolving" traded being able to mimic solids more closely but massively shortening their lifespan

Your definitely right about sitting on the sidelines, I think most of us are doing it from a point - I haven't got any DSC figures though I will pick up a Captain Georgiou, I picked up TMP Kirk but didn't get Spock - WOK are a must for me though as is specific figures at the least from TNG.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding his grammar, but it seems to me he’s saying if 1,000 people want a TWOK Spock, he will only make 500, etc. And we better have our finger on the button IF and WHEN that time ever comes and be prepared to do battle with each other. Don’t expect to see more than five figures from each of TOS, TWOK and TNG.
Is he admitting that his business is failing ?
Is there something, I’m missing in the translation?

He's just starting his usual crap early. Holding figure numbers back so he can cash in later on when they're sold out most places.

Marketing 101. Corner the market, raise prices.
Tbh I don't blame him. If it's going to happen anyway, he might as well cream off some of that profit.

A potential $230+ base rate is steep for a base figure with the typical (mass produced) accessories (phaser, tricorder, padd).

Makes sense for the more intricate ones but $230 for a Chakotay type release? It should come hand in hand with an improvement in the product.

Tbh, I think most of the ire his posts drum up is just "missing the translation". This just looks like yet another of his thought experiments that people are taking as a press release.

He doesn't even have to use scare tactics, people do it to themselves lol. It ain't that deep and it ain't gospel.

With Nanjin's behavior, I just don't give a 🤬 anymore. If I can snag Kirk and Spock from Wrath of Khan, great, but otherwise, I'm out.
Those are the two I want also.
We May be in competition for them as he’s only making half of what is being asked for .
I guess we can forget about Menagerie/Cage Pike and Spock .

Agreed. This just sounds like him hypothesizing about what some other figure producer might do if they were in his place and only concerned with making a profit, which he often likes to do.

I wouldn't read too much into it.
