I think it would be best for the line to do this as a figure. I am someone who collects mainly figures but also has a sub-collection of X-Men statues, and I am constantly shocked at the animosity between these groups of adult collectors. I think a statue will scare off people who collect figures because they favor posing, and a statue will not bring in the outside statue crowd because they will see the rest of your line is figures.
I think you would be better off doing a standard figure of the Queen and then including a separate ?bust? and spine (maybe two, one from the end of the movie without flesh) as her accessories.
If you wanted to get really crazy, check out what Asmus has done with their recent LoTR releases by having a deluxe set with furniture. Have a deluxe Queen with pieces of engineering to serve as a back drop, and including an overhang with three articulated wires to have a ?floating? Queen with her ?bust? accessory. You could look at including some LEDs similar to the engineering section of the set and red LEDs from the lights of her spine.
And if you do go this far, then please consider allowing micro USB ports to power the thing. Nothing makes me sadder than a Hot Toys Iron Man that needs a million wires coming from a million battery compartments to make the thing run all the time.
Aside from the Queen, when you start releasing the bridge crew lines, I think many would be keen to have deluxe versions that come with their bridge station. Collect the entire bridge crew to put together the whole bridge.
Moducase df120s are popular with some collectors with huge collections. Consider scaling a full bridge set to those cases.
But this is big dreaming. Whatever you do, please please figure out how to make the Queen work as a figure. I would rather have a posable borg Queen who cannot recreate her ?attaching? scene than a statue who is stuck in that pose.
