Lol. To paraphrase Spock, why do to you ask a question the answer to which you know so well. I'm not sure why it matters. I've only been collecting since Qmx in 2016 and, to be honest, Nanjin has proved to be one of the most reliable producers, with shorter wait times and (QMX aside where he was as frustrated at their marketing model as the rest of us) very few cancelled products.

I'm not waiting for anything specific, except maybe Majel Barrett Nurse Chapel, Uhura, Chief O'Brien, and some Romulans, so I'm just enjoying the ride.
You made the statement, no where did you say it was an opinion. I simply asked for receipts, you provided none as predicted. It doesn't matter to me anywhere near as it clearly matters to you.
The rest of your rambling was more opinion. There's no reason he couldn't trickle in tos and tng figures every now and then since the line started. More and more people are leaving the line and saying f it because they're none waiting and they're done being strung along by a liar, which is more evident than pReOrDeRs ArE bOoMiNg because nanjin says so!
I await your, "so why are you here" routine.

Honestly the fact that Nanjin thinks EXO-6 will still be producing figures in 2026 is great news. Hot Toys has been cranking out Star Wars figures for over a decade so I don't see why Exo-6 can't do the same. Maybe they'll start doing "2.0" versions of sold-out characters eventually.

Pretty much everything on forums are announcements and opinions. You are just as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. All I know is that he had an experience of how not to run a Star Trek line with QMX. So whatever he does will be different. I've only been collecting for 7 years but that's long enough to gather a vague understanding of the logistics. Tha smaller companies share factory resources. Delays are inevitable due to supply chains. Many figures get cancelled and it's annoying if it was a figure that you really wanted. Other lines do surface scrape of top tier characters. How many X-Men did Hot Toys produce and how many of them were Wolverine?

Sure, Najin could have seeded more TOS figures beyond Sulu and Spock but where to start and where to stop in an early run? Mirror Kirk? Mirror Uhura? TOS Chekov? TOS Uhura? For every figure he produces, someone will be saying he should have done a different character instead. Voyager fans are happy. You aren't happy for them?

You can believe public announcements or not. Some people think the world is flat in the face of far greater evidence to the contrary after all. If it's all hyperbole and the line goes extinct again, I've got five cool figures out of it so far. Better than none.

I suspect that when he gets around to TOS, he might start with Uhura. She's a much anticipated character that QMX didn't touch and her Mirror Mirror version wasn't all that different beyond the uniform so the deluxe edition could just have a spare uniform for her. Pure speculation though, so don't shout at me.

I think they’ve struggled on hair for some characters in general so far. Especially female characters, some male characters too. They often look like globs or lack detail.
Agreed, the hair sculpting needs to be finer and they currently are more like tendrils. Not saying it’s horrible but the sculpted strands of hair could be “thinner”.

I've found Nanjin to be quite clear and relatively transparent about his approach with EXO-6 and what we, as collectors, should expect. His method of delivering his message can be cryptic and convoluted, which he even admits to, but the results always support what he promised. In the end Star Trek collectors seem to be very pleased with how things have rolled out from EXO-6.

He has been clear about projects like the next ST:TMP McCoy, Uhura, Pike, T'Pol, Picard, Riker, Worf, Laforge, O'Brien, various Captains and SNW - we've seen some of the con reveals and know these aren't just protos of potentially cancelled projects. What more can you ask? EXO-6 will deliver - unless they go bankrupt - but they do tend to ship very soon after orders go up, so we know there's certainty in whatever they promise. It will only be a short matter of time before they hit up the principal characters like original series Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, ST:TNG Picard and whomever else we're eagerly awaiting. All of these will of course be staggered against other 2nd and 3rd tier characters, in typical EXO-6 style, but so far that offbeat selective staggering has been met with reasonable satisfaction from collectors - i.e. Would anyone have put Quark so high up on the priority list of any and all possible Star Trek universe characters? And yet it did very well. This weird and bewildering model of Nanjin's has worked for the most part.

A couple of years ago I would have said differently and I'm not blindly endorsing the man today - I'd actually prefer he went about his communications and PR in a less maniacal (megalomaniacal) and dramatic way - but so far the company has delivered leaving collectors quite happy with the products and growing Star Trek collection. A collection of high-end 1:6 ST figures that has sadly been deprived of us for decades. I haven't heard of collectors being frustrated and jumping ship from the EXO-6 concept yet. Nanjin has been clear about what we're buying into with EXO-6 and how we should set aside our funds for what he has planned. It's going to be a journey now.

Just something to consider. None of us are getting any younger. But TOS fans would logically be amongst the older fans/customers. While some of you younger guys & gals ”don’t mind waiting longer for a better quality figure” or dont mind giving their “wallet a rest” 🙄 the older folks have fewer years ahead to enjoy their favorites. And some ( a greater percentage than TNG, DS9, Disco etc) may not even be here by the time pre-order TOS time comes around.
PS
TOS 1966-1969
TMP 1979
TWOK 1982
TNG 1987 - 1994
Is it reasonable to conclude TOS fans are on average 21 years older than TNG fans (not to mention fans of later series) ?

DS9, VOY, and ENT all debuted between 22-30 years ago now, and each one still has an active and merch-thirsty fanbase that has been ignored while every toymaker to get their meathooks on the Trek license before Exo only focused on the same old TOS/TNG stuff over and over again.

I get that TOS/TNG defines Trek for most longterm Trek fans. I came aboard with TOS movies and TNG myself. I'm contemplating a Saavik PO just so I can get someone, anyone, in a monster maroon uniform on my shelf. But compared to the post-TNG stuff, these shows have been milked so hard the udders are spittin' dust.

I'm sorry that there are fewer days ahead than behind for the TOS OGs. We all owe ya for keeping the flame burning long enough for the franchise to explode into its full potential decades after it was originally cancelled. But I did battle with a stage IV cancer a few years ago, and I could've beamed outta here with zero DS9/VOY/ENT figures on my shelf, while at least there's already SOME 1:6 rep of some kind out there for TOS/TNG that isn't Playmates-tier, so urgency is all relative 😅

I think each new release should be 1 from each line. Instead of doing 5-6 Voyagers in a row, do 1 TOS, 1 TNG, 1 Voy, etc etc and cycle back around. Let each line grow together.
I don't find that unreasonable at all either. A lot of us would not have to wait too many rounds for another must-have to come along anyway, since most Trek fans are into more than just 1-2 of the shows. (My experience anyway, correct me if I'm wrong)

But if the upside of front-loadin' all them Tuvix-murdererin' mauraders is getting the production wiggles out, I won't complain as someone who's not going any further into that particular series than a Seven of Nine that will likely be sold off when the PIC version drops anyway 😁😇

Yeah that would be a nice idea, although there are probably gradations within that concept. Shran, Quark, and Locutus are all from different shows. Admiral Picard is too, while TMP kirk & Spock, Kruge, and Saavik are all TOS movie era. So it isn't that he's not staggering them, it's that he doesn't always start with top tier and that the TOS main crew are just a tease.

EXO 6 is not my business to run … only to support if and when something that I collect comes up for pre order.

Would it be great to get 1 figure from each line release concurrently— sure

Could a figure from each show released simultaneously —sure

But that is not what is happening… so live with what is happening (reality vs. fantasy) or put your collecting $ elsewhere — or be patient and wait it out until something you want comes along

Have to admit I wasn’t impressed by pictures of Locutus but having him now in hand he is pretty damn cool.

Play nice, Freaks, your opinions are not facts. They're just your sentiments.

Thread cleaned and let's keep it that way.

Just catching up on 3-4 weeks of posts to this thread (must have accidentally deleted a notification email along the way).

Based on the above, and the issues you doubtless solved, I've submitted my official request for you & the rest of the staff to sort out world peace, cure all known sickness, and confirm a new season of "Firefly".

I know you can't promise - but do what you can please.

From Nanjins facebook page;
Guess how many seperate pieces of fabrics that we need to pre-cut to make this jacket? Over 52 pieces or under? The number of pieces mean thats the minimum times that the jacket will have to go through a production line. From here, think about the detailings. If 52 pieces is the factor, then the jacket needs to run through the production line close to 65 times.
Everything has to be custom made. Nothing is available in the production material market such as the D-Ring at this size and the orange zipper. Some of the parts are diecast. We decide depending on the appearance. Some things are better using plastics. Molds costs are practically the same for die-cast and plastics materials.

Nanjin posting this makes me even more confused as to why it would supposedly be a problem to get the earring correct on the DS9 Kira :dunno

As much as I want to see the start of TOS and the ball continually moving with TNG figures, I really hope it is one of the already started lines that gets the next figure.

1. "Voyager" just needs B'Elanna and Neelix in order to be complete. (as far as main crewmembers go.) We can then put this line somewhat to rest.

2. "Mirror, Mirror" has been abandoned to an alternate universe. Let's see the next figure in the line, please. Kirk would be great, as I don't foresee any Uhura figure being released until the end of the supposed 5 year mission...

3. "The Motion Picture" McCoy. Apparently Bones refuses to use the transporter so he has been rising into orbit via the slowest Star Fleet shuttle still in use...

4. "First Contact" / "Deep Space 9" Worf. The uniform and standard accesories are already done. All you need additionally are a great head sculpt, his baldric, his bat'leth and we're basically done.

Sounds like a cunning plan!

Not Trek but Nanjin alluded to EXO-6 being a good fit for BSG. I wonder if there’s any plans for that down the line.

Less than zero interest in BSG - but "Firefly" . . . THOSE figures would be snapped up by myself (and plenty of others!) as soon as they were available for pre-order.
