Two very official and scientific poll questions:

1) During a zombie apocalypse, if you had to possess just ONE Star Trek action figure that you could safely carry around in a special bubble wrap contraption in your backpack while fending off zombies—and having been forced to abandon all the rest of your Trek figures from your collection in search of food and safety—which one would it be? Applies to all figures already produced or projected to be released with a prototype photo seen.

2) Same question but applies to any Star Trek figure not yet a glimmer in Nanjin's eye. Unlikely since this scenario would be per chance the zombies are defeated and the world of action figure production would resume as before with Nanjin as one of the uninfected survivors!

Your answer might be the same to both questions or it might not.

With the caveat of tremendously fierce competition from the maroon-wearing figures on my list:

1. I could say "ask me again once we see how T'Pol turned out" but who would I be kidding
2. Ezri Dax

Out of the figures I already have in hand: Saavik

... need a second more intense Kirk expression.

While the friendly Admiral on the bridge smile, captures the moment,
This film to me, and its presence on the shelf, I would want it to be more about the classic stand-off between the two great character rivals; Kirk vs. Khan

Not necessarily all out "KHAAAN!" screaming Kirk, but possibly a second Kirk head sculpt, looking at least a little more stern.
Kirk sculpt does wonderfully capture the spirit and likeness of the Captain[Admiral] on the Bridge character moment very well.
Yet the WOK film to me, and its presence on the shelf, I would want it to be more about the classic stand-off between the two great character rivals; Kirk vs. Khan.

No, not necessarily the "KHAAAN!" yell, but a second sculpt, looking at least a little more determined, intense, pensive, which better embodies the film's fantastic rivalry between the two characters to pose opposite each other.

Also if the figure is including Tale of Two Cities book accessory.

Also absolutely not necessary but would be fun, if Kirk aptly gets A Tale of Two Cities, which they borrowed and wove in several intertextual elements - Khan needs to be paired with his own parallel volumes: Either Moby-Dick (implicitly invoked throughout the film) , Dante's Inferno, or Milton’s Paradise Lost, first cited in Space Seed.
All suggesting aspects of Khan’s character.

That said, surprised 5 pages into The Wrath of Khan thread (derail not withstanding), anybody has yet to share the actual Khan prototype.
As a fun nod (though not necessary), Khan could be paired with his own parallel volumes: Either Moby-Dick (implicitly invoked throughout the film), Dante's Inferno (also on Khan's Botany shelf), or Milton’s Paradise Lost, first cited in Space Seed.
All infering aspects of Khan’s character.

Totally agree! This ultra-generic smiley Kirk by no means reflects any worthwhile moment from TWOK—or any movie in fact. At least not one that is worth a sculpt representing the intensity of Admiral Kirk. At least maybe a second head in an away jacket version like von Curdles mentioned?

Yeah it's a fantastic sculpt, but doesn't represent Kirk well in that movie at all. And plus is just far too similar to the smiley TMP Kirk we already got.

Although I suppose it's possible Nanjin got scared off from the more intense expressions after the poor reaction to FC Picard...
