Guys

Heard there will be a new TWOK Kirk in the vest available in the secret club. I wondered how many will be made ? And then what about Gorn? He has been teasing for a while if you are an “expert”, no Gorn or Kirk in a vest for you! 🙃
So, how will this infamous "club" work with ordering? The item will not be available on the EXO website but Nanjin will set up to take orders personally?

I'm guessing they'll skip the website and he'll just send out invoices to those people he approves of (after of course verifying that they've never nitpicked or voiced a word of criticism before).

Sold mine too and thinking about the same for FC Data. He just doesn’t stack up to the TNG release in terms of likeness

I don't want to give up my FC Data because I plan to display him with Locutus and the Borg Queen,if we ever get her, lol.
Kind of like how I plan to display the Kirk, Spock and McCoy TMP figures together.

I'm actually wondering if this Private Club business has been Red Herring from the moment it was born. A ruse to try to dig at those who dare to offer anything seen by His Highness as critical, and aimed at this forum with special zeal.

It's been trumpeted from the rafters for years now, and not a single rumbling or how it would be set up or work.

And I can't imagine the Licensor being too keen about using likeness rights and licensed characters to offer only to a (presumably) small group of customers chosen arbitrarily, especially if the contract with Paramount, et. al. includes any residuals based on sales volume.

This could all be an attempt to further stifle critical feedback, and cull more praise and Hero Worship from those who would prostitute their dignity to get a chance to own a rare figure or two. Only time will tell.

A recent Facebook suggested he's done more for corporate reasons, ready for when he retires from Exo-6, so he can retain control of the production of the obscure characters.

I really doubt it. A major studio with licensing rights as big as Paramount will not allow someone to sell “ under the table “ A holder of a license have typically X years to use the license and once it expires it expires”. Any under the table dealings typically results in a cease and desist warning followed by lawsuits on any likeness violation by the studios. Which is the whole point of obtaining licensing rights.

I think it is another one of his mind game to be honest and used car salesman talk. Didn’t he say Chang would be only offered in his private club and guess what… it was a public release.

As for him retiring, I think it is just another one of his pitch.

That's plausible, although he may have more leeway when it comes to certain obscure characters that he never expected to sell in huge numbers anyway. And as long as CBS gets their money they may not care how he sells them.

The easiest thing to do, and an option that would generate some additional revenue to fund these niche figures would be to follow a model similar to what Master Replicas did with their Collectors Club.

You pay a fee, you’re in, and you get dibs on whatever interests you. No drama. Segmenting your customer base is just poor taste.

He told everyone he will release a TWOK Kirk in a vest. I would say Kirk likeness is not obscure
