It's just because they think they want something so everybody else must want it too.

I look at it as simply misplaced enthusiasm, but that enthusiasm itself is a great thing.

There's metrics and data behind everything which will not steer you wrong as long as you listen to it, but very few of us, myself included, have the time or inclination to look for it, let alone read it.

As for morons... I don't seriously want a voice chip, for example, I was just trying to get a smile out of people, because i found the mental image funny. Some people won't pick up on it, or won't find it very smile-inducing, and then I just sound like a moron - point being sometimes the interpretation makes it worse than it is intended. And sometimes.. we really just don't get it.
Let me be specific here.
There's nothing wrong with being wrong about something online. I don't call people a moron who say something online about my industry. It's the people who think they know, and push some ideas that are wildly wrong and make conclusions based on that.

Like someone telling Nanjin how to make more money with this Star Trek line almost certainly has no idea what they're talking about. Telling him his strategies are bad coming from a mouth that doesn't have experience is... pointless.
Now like any fan I sometimes wonder about things and voice that. And I'm often wrong online because I don't know the industry. It's almost about how someone phrases it that's the issue.

You get people who call out Nanjin's strategies like "why can't TOS be out NOW you're losing CUSTOMERS". I doubt anyone who says that is super educated and works in the industry. Seems like Nanjin just might know what he's doing as unlike so many other Star Trek figures he's still in business and progressing.
Then you can get people who wonder about it, voice it, but maybe not in an aggressive tone that pretends to know what they're talking about. That's fine.

It's all based on context.

Nanjin probably is a bit ban happy on Facebook. But I don't really care. I'll probably get banned from there eventually and I'll keep buying the figures 'cause I like 'em lol.

Anyways, I sound more agressive than I mean to be. Not everyone is a moron for getting something wrong about an industry.

Just in case anyone missed out on Geordi, Big Bad Toy Store got a few in stock (maybe from cancellations). They currently have 3 left of the Standard/Deluxe version, but they're going pretty fast (yesterday they had 6). I ordered the Essential version yesterday, but it was the last one they had.

Which version of TNG Picard (Standard/Deluxe, Duty uniform, or Darmok uniform) did everyone pre-order?

i went with the Duty uniform because as much as i would like to have the Captain's Jacket to add some variety, it just doesn't look good in the promo pics and convention pics/videos. it flairs out at the bottom and doesn't look symmetrical across the left and right sides. i also find this to be the case with any figures i own wearing cloth jackets or suits. i have the Playmates 9" Picard in Captain's Jacket, and it's easily one of the worst uniforms they produced.

But EXO-6 generally doesn't have good promo pics, so maybe it will be better in person. Looking forward to seeing some reviews on it.

Picard is nearly ready for shipping.
