Sure - Joel Edgerton's great.. but out of ALL the people out there to play an Egyptian.. they pick him?

Don't tell me it's because he was a bold & visionary choice, given his breadth of work. :lol

I can think of a bunch of actors who would be far better suited.. - & Bale? In this?

I admire his talent - & I never really thought I'd say this, but seriously, I'm getting sick to the back teeth of the guy now.. :lol

Best line in the movie is when Ramses returns from the Red Sea alone and dejected, sits on his throne and says, "His god is God." :clap
Plus Heston also did Gods voice, I mean really who better?
Sit down and shut up Morgan Freeman.
Brynner came across as such a bad ass that the only one who could stop him was God himself.
How can Cecil B. Demille directing Heston and Brynner with a cameo by God ever be topped?
Insanity.:cuckoo:

Joel Edgerton as the greatest and most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire...

*Prince of Egypt was the definitive adaptation of this story in my book

Old man Ridders isn't the same filmmaker anymore. He just isn't. He's more like Lucas who is surrounded by yes men that grew up on his films and think every thought out of his head is genius, and this is coming from a huge Ridley Scott fanboy.

Is this going to be one of those Bible films that doesn't reference the bible? So Moses 40 years herding sheep for his father-n-law made his beard grow about 3 inches?

At least they aged Heston and the Cartoon version.

Had hopes for this but looking kind of meh...

There's no way Moses could have trimmed his own beard......No way.

Stupid movie. They didn't have means of cutting beards back then....

Ha ha, reminds me of the time I was watching a movie with a friend of mine, can't remember which, but 10 minutes in he says, "this is so unrealistic."

I asked why, and he replied that one of the characters hair was too short, and that they didnt have the means to cut hair 2000 years ago.

I had all I could do to keep from smacking him upside his head.

:dunno I'm still stoked for this. Production value looks gorgeous and while Edgerton is an odd choice, I've always liked him as an actor. Don't have a problem accepting him as Ramses as, after all, this is a film adaptation based on text. Scott can do whatever he wants with it and I find it curious at the very least. The film doesn't look anything like one would imagine, which is cool to me.

Edgerton as Ramses doesn't bother me a bit, I remember reading that some studies suggest he may not have been as dark skinned as people like to imagine him.

Bale does look weird, he looks too contemporary for some reason.

All and all I'm not even excited about this.

Bale's got a conquistador vibe going on in that screenshot.

Another interesting choice for Ridley Scott. He's 76. His brother killed himself a couple years ago. Master Of The Obvious says Prometheus is his way of contemplating where we came from and Exodus is about where we're going.

the aliens gave moses the greatest gift of all....

"something is coming..."

toilet paper.

mind. blown. yeaaah.
