So as usual I do not have any kind of setup or fancy camera so please never expect really awesome pictures from me or anything.
Based on Ganondorf and Ryo as well as what I've heard and seen from other collectors, I think F4F really is my favorite and the most reliable in the industry right now. Their quality control seems top notch and their packaging always blows me away. I am always confident their products will come without so much as a dent. The customer service is insane too. They are quick to answer on Facebook, like to keep people updated (something Sideshow almost never does which I find frustrating) on the status of the products, and are pretty flexible in their policies too.
Plus it's hard to beat the quality of the sculpts and licenses. In a figure world where most of what gets figures and statues are the same boring stuff that always get figures and statues (Terminator, Predator, Marvel, DC, etc...) it's nice to see a company tackle the underrepresented licenses a lot of us also grew up enjoying, like Sonic and general Sega.
As for this statue specifically, I'm very pleased. He's nice and heavy so immediately I understood why he was priced the way he was. The sculpt is great. The pants really impressed me when we first saw the preorder pictures, but it is just as impressive in person. With this statue you aren't just paying for the base product, but you're paying for excellent paint apps and quality control too. Under fairly close inspection I haven't seen any real issues.
The paint is done nicely. Everything seems smooth and applied exactly where it should be. Only potential error I noticed were these slight light brown splotches near the base of the shoes, but I'm guessing this is just supposed to be dirt. I was very impressed with the eyes especially. Seems like eyes are one of the hardest parts to get right and given that Ryo is only 1/6 I was afraid there would be a higher chance of error, but they got it spot on as far as I can tell.
The base is also really cool. It has this interesting texture that even has sculpted cracks in it that you can feel when you run your fingers along the base. The material itself feels pretty cool too, not sure what it is but I'm guessing it's supposed to give you the impression that it is made of marble.
Speaking of the base, my only actual complaint about this statue is that those who got the exclusive did not also receive the street base. Of course they never advertised that we would (as far as I can remember) but I feel like it would have been a nice bonus to give. I think his shoes are glued onto the base though so perhaps that's why they could not do it. I don't know if there are pegs he came in the box as one giant piece.
All in all this is a great piece and I'm basically sold on this Sega All Stars license. I'm looking forward to collecting it and seeing how they all look together.
