They'll definitely be pipboys on ebay for years to come.
...I mean most CE game stuff ends up on there in mass quantities when the excitement of the game dies down.

The other problem is that this CE is pretty damn big. Compared to say my MKX CE which was the same price and came with the scorpion figure. The biggest part was the box which I've yet to decide if I'll keep. Pip boy looks as if it'll take up a fair bit of room for a collectible. People just might not have the space to display it so they'll sell.

Bethesda will honor a Fallout 4 pre-order from a cheeky fan who sent in a box full of bottlecaps as payment, but haha, funny idea, please nobody else mail in boxes full of bottle caps. They're heavy, smelly, gross, and you have to wait until the post apocalypse for them to actually be worth anything.
An Imgur user going by GatorMacheteJr posted pictures of the cap motherlode, which he'd been saving up ever since he finished Fallout 3. It was 11.2 pounds of crimped metal and dried booze in all, and he packed it in a box and shipped it off to Bethesda, Maryland with a note humbly requesting a Fallout 4 pre-order - or failing that, the return of his "life savings." Apparently the shipping costs were quite steep because, again, heavy, and they probably made the whole delivery truck smell like stale beer.
GatorMacheteJr confirmed last night that Bethesda will honor the pre-order, saying it was because he was the first person to try such a stunt. Emphasis on first, so don't expect similar results for your collection of Chicago-area pulltabs… and Bethesda may rather write "return to sender" on the box than acknowledge the canonicity of Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
Then again, if you send in a box full of gold Legion Aureus, you may have better luck. Might even get a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition out of the deal.

Fallout 3 and NVs collectors editions are fetching a hefty price on amazon.

Everything is stupid expensive on amazon, I imagine they would be considerably cheaper on amazon although expect a "bump" now that there is a resurgence of interest. Also this is literally YEARS later, the bulk of the excess CE edition crap is sold a few months to a year after release unless, even by retailers but no one is going to be carrying FO3 or NV retail collector's editions anymore.... I bought the NV collector's edition stuff (game key not included) for 25 including shipping about a year ago and I didn't exactly shop around, just took the cheapest BIN that was on ebay at the time.

Look at every other CE, Witcher, Skyrim, the Halo helmet, the COD stuff. Most CE is low quality crap anyways and people hype and buy it and it'll sell out, then they'll massively regret it later.

Fallout 4 is the much anticipated new game in the Fallout series. It releases for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on November 10th, 2015.
New information learned at QuakeCon 2015 is indicated in bold print in the sections below.

Set in Boston, MA and starting before the bombs fall, Fallout 4 centers around an emerging inhabitant of Vault 111 as he or she awakens 200 years after the atomic war that reshaped earth.
Below is all the information we have learned at QuakeCon 2015 and E3 2015.
[h=2]Setting
[/h]New settings revealed at QuakeCon 2015 include Corvega, a power plant populated by Raiders, and Lexington, a Boston suburb noted as the birthplace of the American revolution.
With the reveal trailer, it has been confirmed that Fallout 4 is set in the Massachusetts area of the East Coast, including the city of Boston. Certain areas of Boston appear to be in good condition, whether they survived the bombs or were rebuilt since the Great War, including one district near Fenway Park called Diamond City which features inhabitants dressed in baseball attire and a giant nail bat.
In a panel presentation director Todd Howard described the environs as being much more colorful overall than Fallout 3's, but also stated that the area where the bomb fell will be quite dreary.
468px-O001.jpg
Images depict mutants wandering wastelands, robotic or armored scavengers, and places of business built on the rubble of old Boston.
468px-Fallout4image4.png
Iconic locales include the Massachusetts State House and establishing shots of the Paul Revere statue in a thunderstorm.
468px-Fallout4image6.png
Also appearing is a modified version of the USS Constitution. Old Ironsides appears to have been retrofitted as an airship
468px-Fallout4image1.png
Also depicted is a ruined version of the Bunker Hill Monumentcommemorating the famous Revolutionary War battle.

We'll keep adding details as we learn more.
[h=2]Companions, Sex, and Romance [/h]Around a dozen companions will appear in Fallout 4. Along with the familiar Dogmeat the Dog and Mr. Handy the Robot, new characters like Piper, Preston Garvey, and others can become companions.
468px-Fao2.jpg
Players may have one companion accompanying them at a time and may switch between them.
Companions may now be Romanced, forming relationships through game play. Non-humans may not be romanced.

  • Piper is a woman revealed in Diamond City during the QuakeCon 2015 presentation. Piper is a female depicted in a red leather coat and newsboy hat.

  • Preston is the leader of the Commonwealth Middle Men, a male in brown robes depicted with a laser rifle.
Companions will address characters by the name they choose during character creation.
One of the new features for them in Fallout 4 is the ability to issue commands to Companions. Players can tell a companion to pick up distant items, or use far away objects.
Director Todd Howard revealed that the Dog will be completely optional, and will not die, as they don't want players reloading for any reason other than their own deaths.
[h=2]Stats and Perks [/h]Fallout 4 stats are governed by the SPECIAL system with seven attributes: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck.
468px-165-1-1226086538.JPG
Players have Perks tied to SPECIAL stats. Every time a player levels up they may select a new Perk.
[h=2]Weapons and Armor [/h]Fat Man makes a prominent appearance in the QuakeCon 2015 demo, blasting away a colossal Behemoth mutant in a mushroom cloud. Another unnamed weapon appears to be a head-crushing pipe covered in razor blades. A laser musket also appears in the QuakeCon demo, a single-shot weapon requiring a hand-crank between each attack.
Current known weapons are:

This modification system also carries over to armor, where you can customize your own suit of Power Armor.
468px-Custompowerarmor1.jpg
Armor has also been broken up into pieces, so players can equip different pieces for their chest, arms, legs and head.
[h=2]Enemies[/h]Enemies revealed at QuakeCon include the huge Behemoth mutant, a massive enemy type. Series staples like Ghouls and Raiders also appear.
468px-Deathclawnopetown1.jpg
During the final highlight reel of the E3 demo, we were able to discern several different targets for the player.

Enemy scaling is described as "rubberbanding" from area to area. So one area might have enemies that scale within a certain low range, while another area would have enemies that start at a much higher level. Source: Gamespot
[h=2]Character Creation [/h]Your character is part of a family who lives near Vault 111 pre-apocalypse. The intro sequence will act as a tutorial and Character Creator. This intro sequence ends as the bombs begin to fall and the family runs to the Vault for shelter.
468px-Fao3.jpg
In Fallout 4 you take on the role of either the husband or wife. You will be able to customize their appearance at the beginning of the game while standing in front of the bathroom mirror. Players can use a free moving tool to completely adjust facial features along with many other options. Character creation ends when you leave the bathroom, and your choice of character will be locked in at this point.
468px-Foa1.jpg
Although much of the story remains hidden, there were a few details told to us.

  1. Your character appears to be the sole survivor of Vault 111, indicating that your family will likely die within or outside.
  2. Roughly 200 years pass between when you enter and exit the Vault.
  3. Somehow, your family robot named Codsworth survives, and meets up with you after you exit the Vault.
  4. Your character is fully voiced.
  5. The story was confirmed to take place in and around Boston.
[h=2]Second Screen Experience [/h]
468px-Pipboyhand1.jpg
Midway through the E3 presentation, it is revealed that there will be a Pip-Boy app for phones at the games launch that allows you to browse your Pip-Boy from in game, without having to bring it up. A collectors edition version of the game will also come with a real life Pip-Boy frame, that can house a smart phone, allowing you to get the full Pip-Boy experience.
[h=2]Synthetics/Androids [/h]Hinted at in other games, and teased during some footage, it appears that synthetic people, or Androids, are in fact in the game. It is unknown how many, or their allegiances.
[h=2]Mods & Mods On Xbox One [/h]On the E3 show floor, some new information revealed how modding will work in Fallout 4. Their approach is going to be similar to Skyrim, they will have a mostly hand- off approach, only stepping in when mods are stealing assets or allowing for nudity.
It appears that they will offer mod hosting on Bethesda.net, and that's the service that will be available for console mods. On the consoles, modding will have some restrictions to avoid ruining the game entirely, but short of that, everything else appears to be free game.
It was announced during the Xbox Press Conference that mods you use on the PC version of Fallout 4, can be transferred to the Xbox One. Mod support won't be going live until several months after the game releases. Also, Xbox One versions of Fallout 4 come with a free copy of Fallout 3.
[h=2]Classic Game Homages [/h]Fallout themed versions of Donkey Kong and Missile Command will be playable on the in-game Pip Boy.
[h=2]City Building[/h]In Fallout 4, you will be able to rebuild settlements around the map. This includes what looks like the destroyed city that your character was originally from. Players can salvage old buildings and parts, then reuse them to build up their own buildings. These can range from random houses, to bars, shops and even houses for your companions.
468px-Citybuildingf4.jpg
As you rebuild, NPCs and Merchants will come to your settlements to visit or stay. You can also build defensive structures, which will become mandatory as your city can be attacked by Raiders and other creatures. The larger your settlements get, the more people they can house and the better quality of items Merchants will sell.
[h=2]Item Crafting[/h]Along with building cities, players can now freely craft items. This includes weapon parts, weapons, and many other items. There are roughly 50 base Weapons in the game, with over 700 mods that can be used to customize them.
468px-Scopebuilding1.jpg
By customizing a weapon, you can completely change how it functions. For example, you can start with a base weapons such as a Laser Pistoland add parts to turn it into a Laser Rifle, or a Scatter Rifle. The same can be done to any other weapon in the game, giving the player full control over their arsenal.
[h=2]V.A.T.S [/h]The Vault-Tec Assissted Targeting System returns with some enhancements. VATS allows characters to target individual enemy body parts for increased damage and gameplay effects. Time doesn't appear to slow down quite as much now, however there is a new command while using it that is called "Execute Critical". It is unknown what the full use of this is, although it likely has your character dish out some intense attack at the cost of a large sum of AP.
[h=2]E3 Ending Highlight Reel [/h]
At the end of the presentation, a highlight reel is shown that shows us a town of new details about the game.

  • A Space Suit is shown, possibly indicating more space travel, or at least locations dealing with space travel.
  • A location known as the Museum of Freedom is shown off, filled with Raiders.
  • Much like previous games, enemies have different names to indicate their difficulty, i.e Raider vs Raider Scum.
  • The gigantic Super Mutant Behemoth creatures return.
  • The Mirelurk Queen is shown off, and is terrifying.
  • Syntehtic Enemies, and likely NPCs exist in Fallout 4. These were only rumored about and briefly seen during a side quest in Fallout 3 where you save, or kill a Android in Rivet City.
  • Raiders, and other enemies now seem to be able to use Power Armor. It's no longer restricted to the Brotherhood and Enclave.
  • There is environmental damage now, as explosives can blow pieces off of buildings.
  • Radscorpions can now burrow beneath the ground and appear suddenly in front of you.
  • While wearing Power Armor, your HUD changes to that of the Power Armors. Gauges for health, rads, AP, ammo and others can appear.
  • Deathclaws exist in Fallout 4, they will still murder you.
  • A new enemy called the Bloodbug is shown, appears to be a mutated mosquito. Yet another thing to haunt you.
  • A Verti-bird is shown as ride able. The player can call it down with a smoke grenade, however they can not control it. Likely this is a new form of fast travel, replacing the instant fast travelling from Fallout 3 and NV.
  • The Brotherhood of Steel return in Fallout 4.
  • A jetpack add-on is shown for Power Armor, allowing for very brief moments of flight.
  • A airship is shown crashing, with the name Prydwen. It also has the Brotherhood of Steel insignia on it.
  • The highlight reel ends with a massive laser beam striking downtown Boston. It looks very similar to the destruction of Megaton in Fallout 3, or the firing of the Archimedes 2 from Fallout New Vegas.

[h=2]Early Rumors [/h]According to documents leaked to Kotaku by a source associated with the Fallout 4's voice acting casting call, the next Fallout project is code-named The Institute. [1] the word "Fallout" never actually makes an appearance anywhere. The contents of the documents make it quite clear that the game is Fallout 4.

The beginning of one page starts with “War. War never changes,” perhaps the single most well-known line in the Fallout series. It discusses the main character’s great great-grandfather, who served in the army in 1945. Expecting that the bombs that ended World War II would be a harbinger of absolute atomic warfare, the narrator expresses surprise that it took until the 21st century for the world to end in nuclear fire.

Though much is unknown about Fallout 4's characters, at least one voice actor has confirmed his involvement with a Fallout project. Erik Todd Dellums, who voiced Galaxy News Radio DJ Three Dog in the game, tweeted that it looked like he would be reprising his role in the near future. Dellums later confirmed Bethesda gave him permission to release the tease. [2]

468px-Screen_Shot_2013-12-13_at_11.35.40_AM.png
In the leaked voice-acting documents other characters are revealed, including another DJ named Travis Miles, a character named Sturges who is an engineer described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel," and Preston Garvey, a character who The Player interacts with in the sample script.

I just want to build a tower as my home base. Saruman that ***** up and reign fire and hatred down on raiders heads.

Well if anything can be learned from Skyrim they are telling you your gonna be able to build these awesome, super customizable structures only to find out its anything but and for the most part already planned out for you. Im not holding my breath in that department. Although, I am hopeful.

True but credit to Bethesda for pushing console mods, that is big, very big.
