Okay, I love Family Guy and Star Wars. I found the episode hilarious. However, 22.98 for a 42 minute episode is highway robbery. Does this mean the episode will not be in a future season boxset? Oh, featurettes and 4 minutes of footage. That's worth 23 dollars. I might could understand picking it up for the 30 dollar "collector's set" ... at least you get a T-Shirt and some collectibles. But, overall, this just seems like a sad attempt to cash in this X-mas.

First off, you might want to point out that it's only Pre-Sales in December, release date is January 15.

Second, I plan on getting the deluxe set, looks like some cool goodies packed into it.

This is promising.

The DVD features more than four minutes of never-before-seen material; an uncensored track; animatics; commentaries; interviews with Seth MacFarlane and George Lucas; and a first look at a now-in-production "Family Guy" Star Wars spoof (which goes by the working title of "Something, Something, Something Dark Side).

"Something, something, something COMPLETE!"

Haha, that was one of the many best Star Wars gags in Family Guy.

Holy crap! That special edition is frickin' sweet!

Though I agree, Blue Harvest was not the best Family Guy stuff ever, I did enjoy it and appreciate the special edition set enough that it has to be the way to go if I'm picking this up. I actually found Sunday night's 100th epsiode pt. 1 to be a lot funnier.

About the pricing, that's probably the MSRP. Most DVD's have a higher MSRP than anyone ever pays at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, etc. The only places that ever sell for full MSRP are your local/specialty stores; not the big box retailers which account for most sales.

So $22.98? You'll probably see it at most places for $16.98.

By the way - you see the box for the special edition? Now why can't Star Wars ANH actually get that kind of treatment; original artwork on the cover, fold-out interior, deleted scenes, multi-disc style set?

Instead we get photoshopped art and single disc packaging for the film that started it all.

That episode wasn't close to being good enough to merit all of the merchandising they've been doing. And I'm a pretty big fan of Family Guy.
Agreed. I was utterly disappointed in the finished episode and can easily skip this.

However, if/when they release a DVD of the Robot Chicken special...

The extras are the only good thing about the set. The episode was a wasted opportunity. It was mostly them doing the same things as in the movie and then some random gag unrelated to anything Star Wars. There was SOME funny stuff, but in the end I was disappointed.

With Quagmire as C-3P0, I was hoping for something on the "golden rod" like in that one trading card. :D

Robot Chicken! :chew

Agreed.

And hopefully they'll someday make a Special Edition version that edits out the unnecessary, un-funny and completely awful "Time of My Life" musical number (shudder).

:monkey4

I enjoyed this episode alot but it wasnt quite as good as I had hoped. Technicaly it was brilliant but the typical humor I had come to expect from Family Guy was abit lacking. The Robot Chicken special was far more entertaining, hilarious and it looked amazing.

Wow,we get to see an Empire Strikes Back Family Guy episode trailer.Seems like a Return of the Jedi will be made too, since Seth McFarlane said he would like to make a Return of the Jedi episode.

And you know that Empire will get high ratings like Blue Harvest did.Even if the Return episode gets high ratings,I wonder if Seth would even make any of the prequels, because I think he kinda hates them.

Jeez... A shirt and some trading cards are all you guys need for an overpriced DVD to be worthwhile? No wonder all the recent Star Wars crap being made as of late gets sold.

While you are just being Collector Freak, I must say that there is a lot of truth in that statement.

I love SW, I love Family Guy and I love clever marketing so i'll be buying the deluxe set for sure. The T-shirt alone is worth it to me...

Semi-honest question: If the default t-shirt size included in the Gift Set is smaller than XXL will most of those who buy it even be able to wear it? :monkey3
