The would mean 20th Century Fox would have to commit to spending some money, which apparently isn't in their plans for the 18-35 year male demographic they seem to be targeting. In the last few years, other than than X-men franchise, they've given us 5 comicbook adaptations; AVP, Daredevil, Electra, and two FF movies.
From every one of these movie's we've gotten B-list script writers who only seem capable of giving us lousy storylines, infantile dialogue, and 2D characters that nobody cares about. We've gotten B-list made for TV actors, that are better suited for making commercials than motion pictures. And B-list directors with absolutely no vision, and apparently no ability to get the best out of the B-list actors their stuck with.
Does anybody out there actually think 20th Century Fox gives a rat's a$$ about FF? If they did, they certainly wouldn't have given the reins to this franchise to director Tim Story, a guy who's only directing credits before this series are Barbershop and Taxi.
Unfortunately the 20 Century formula for comicbook movies is to spend as little money as possible, and punch these pieces of crap out as fast as possible. While at the same time knowing full well the demographic they're targeting is going to pay out no matter what...and so far they've been bang on
