Even in those early fights though, Thing never really had a chance. Hulk beat him down constantly.

Nah, just something Trank thought up while high as a kite.

Trank: Hey man, imagine if Thing, you know, throws the top of a tank at some guys. Like Hulk, you know. Except check it out! When it lands, it ****ing explodes, and then just ****ing disappears like it was never even ****ing there. That would be soooo awesome.

Producer: Oh yeah, that's a terrific idea! Ideas like these are what really set you apart, Trank. *whispers to secretary--get Kinberg on the phone, we've got some serious ****ing damage control to do. And call Disney while you're at it. I owe those guys a favor, and I'm about to pay it back in spades*

Trank is pissed because Fox axed his idea to loop that scene over and over for about 20 minutes, which in his mind would have made the critics go wild.

Once upon a time . . .

Yeah, I saw those later, but not when I was a kid :lol Kind of difficult finding comics from the 60's in my local comic store in the early 90's. The closest thing I ever saw to a fight between them was seeing them both fight in one of the Marvel Pepsi cards. This one..

I believe these were only available in South America and Puerto Rico.

I used to watch that show when I was a kid, but I didn't see that episode. The woman was as tall as Hulk :lol

Exactly. I'm sure this is a visionary masterpiece and those who are giving it negative reviews are just not on the level.

No but age of ultrin and iron man 2 had their sequels, I'm talking about the movies that set up sequels and never got them

Oh. thought you meant movies that compromised themselves in the quest to set things up for for future movies.

Green Lantern set up the Yellow Sinestro for the sequel and i think Blade Trinity set up for a Nightstalkers movie, neither of those happened.

The Trank/Fox apologists remind me of drug addicts in the throes of denial! :lol

Such short memories. Does anyone recall Daredevil, Elektra, X-Men 3, Origins:Wolverine, or the previous two Craptastic Four films?

Fox's track record with the superhero genre is a JOKE folks!
But keep putting that spike in your vein anyway . . . :cuckoo:
Let Darwin work his magic.
And let Papa Doom come home to Marvel.

Kudos on the homey d clown gif. Don't see those too often. Glad to see an older person who remembers about him.

Those were different times imo. I like to think of those as the "cheesy" years. Heck I even went back and re-watched the og x-men trilogy last week and even though 3 was awful 1 and 2 were almost just as bad.

Movies these days have more of a serious tone to them with the occasional joke here and there. Do you not like the new x-men movies? Fox put those out.

BUT yes, I do agree Marvel needs to take over Doom. He's just too good of a character to let go to waste.

^ Ha! It's things like that, the whole pretentious attitude about this movie, that makes this all so sweet.

Yeah those were in the past. The reason to have been hopeful of this was because their track record in RECENT years has been great. They hadn't had a rotten CBM movie since 2009.

Marvel have underdevloped and killed off near every villain they've used.

Green lantern:lol

This is the new green lantern :lol

Well it seems like both films suffer from the same affliction--mediocrity. They don't know what they want to be, and don't commit too strongly to anything, and have major muddled sections that scream studio interference/damage control (depending on your perspective I guess) that contributes to the odd pacing and failure to connect with audiences of any stripe.
