That's was a very good movie too.

There are quite a few CBMs people don't know are based on comics

Those two above. 300, Bullet to the head, blue is the warmest colour, ghost world, the crow, wanted, et al

Wanted, nows there's a movie that had zero to do with the comic. :lol
Always wondered what the **** the point of bothering licensing something you're interested in totally not using.

I chuckled when I noticed that the Walking Dead TV show bills itself as being "based on the series of graphic novels by Robert Kirkman..."

Um, they didn't start out as graphic novels. :lol Funny that they aren't going out of their way to reference the term "comic book" as if fans of the show would consider that some stigma.

Don't they all do that? Anytime I see an interview with the people in these shows/movies they invariably use the term "graphic novel." I think they use it more for themselves to legitimize the material than for fans.

Haha I know right. Wanted was completely different the comics and honestly more interesting though I never cared about both said mediums of said title.

I'm waiting to see a trailer for this movie though but I'm not enthused very much at all as I hate where this film is going in terms of everything, anyone has told us about this film. At this point for me, the Tim Story films are starting to seem pretty good aside from characterizations of Victor and Sue.

I love the Fantastic Four to death. It's their interactions with each other and the rest of the Marvel universe that makes me love them so much. They're the first family. THE comic that started the Marvel Comics universe back in '62. They deserve better than this whether it be the comics and film. What worries me the most about this movie is how they're handling Victor.

If it's good it can come close, it doesn't have much competition at all, all the other big blockbusters come out way before its release.

From the sound of things, I don't think anyone is going to get it. The comic fans in general realize it's been mutated more than Brundlefly to resemble nothing at all like the comic. And general audiences are going to have a hard time relating to a comic movie that sounds like it will play out just like any generic ensemble thriller of the 90s. Except this one hasn't got a single actor they recognize signing on for an easy payday.

Wha? People know Kate Mara and especially Jamie Bell.

I just don't think people are gonna see it due to, like you said, a generic plot and at least from my experience, the general public just doesn't care about the FF.

I honestly only know Mara as the girl who gave Tony the subpoena in IM2 and Bell as the guy offed in snowpiercer, even then I didn't know it was him.

I would guess the most well known of the cast is Michael Jordan, because he was in Chronicle and some TV shows. Had a role in the Wire when he was a little kid that most won't really remember very well. I only know Bell from Snowpiercer as well, and only know Mara from House of Cards. I know Doom from one BBC show. These are essentially unknowns.

I can't recall anything I've seen Michael Jordan in :lol
