It was definitely weird, but I thought it was a great movie. Better than great actually, I loved it. It's not one I really care to watch again, but it was very well-made (up until the last half of Volume 2 where I think it sunk in quality quite a bit).

I've always thought Stellan Skarsgard was one of the greatest actors alive, and Nymphomaniac only strengthened that belief for me.

I agree with this completely.

But God damn, as weird as it was to see, Shia Labeouf was what surprised me the most in terms of acting. I knew everyone else was gonna be great judging from seeing previous films with them aside from him.

Yeah, Shia was great too, and even better in the recently released Fury IMO. I've never disliked him though, or thought he was a bad actor to begin with like most people do.

Shia is actually better than most people have seen him in which the majority is Transformers. He's great in The Greatest Game Ever Played and a bunch of other movies besides Transformers and Indiana Jones. As long as he isn't screaming like a girl or being all nononononono!

Back to FF though, isn't it a tad strange that we haven't seen ANYTHING from this movie at all? At least officially? No posters, not even a teaser trailer.

They're gonna attach the trailer to the actual film. That way when people see the trailer and how bad the film looks, there will be a scene at the end of the trailer where the director pops up and goes "Bahahaha, too late ****ers, we already got your money!"

Trailers usually debut 5-6 months before release. The film comes out in August so expect a trailer in February.

I hear the trailer for this donkey turd will be attached to the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.

I'll never understand why people make up their minds about movies [almost a year] before seeing them. The cast is strong, Trank and Kinberg are a strong combo, The Thing is finally all CGI...so far there's nothing to suggest the film will be bad.

If they do a bad ass Thing rendering, I can be very forgiving about some other shenanigans. :lol

Also, since this does have to do with the Negative zone a cameo of Annihilus would be a nice way to go, maybe even teasing danger for the second flick ( if there is o e)

Assuming this film is awesome, Annihilus would be a very awesome 2nd villain I would love to see.

Oh ****, just remembered. Isn't Tim Blake Nelson playing Mole Man in this movie?

I don't think he will be Mole Man yet, that's probably being set up for the sequel if we get one.

:monkey4

"there’s no Victor Von Doom. Instead, he’s playing an iteration named Victor Domashev who, an “anti-social programmer,” posts under the online handle “Doom”."

But there is, there really is.
I'll never understand the Pollyannas that believe everything will be good, because they often end up defending indefensible positions to save face once they're proven wrong.
There will be some strong apologists for this mess. My crystal ball has shown me. :)

They're not doing 616 FF but rather Ultimate FF so having a completely different approach to Doom was expected. I'm also glad Trank didn't go with Vic's last name from the Ultimates (Van Damme) and just created his own.

Toby Kebbell actually looks a lot like Vic from Ultimate FF.

So I'm a Pollyanna because I have common sense? Yeah, no.

because they often end up defending indefensible positions to save face once they're proven wrong.

There is nothing to defend nor to bash because NEITHER of us has seen the film.

Your crystal ball can't show you this week's lottery numbers, right? Just that this film won't impress you. Again, nonsense.

I think you should adhere to logic and at least wait for a trailer to bash a film starring five tremendous actors that are barely 30, a great director who made one of the strongest found footage films of all time on his first try and the writer who gave us Days of Future Past just six months ago.

.

What's wrong with his legs? :lol I think it's a wasted opportunity not to use the "real" Dr. Doom. Plus, I don't want realism and the found footage gimmick with a Dr who only uses electricity, instead of magic. But that's just me...

I feel ya and agree that everyone would probably prefer 616. I understand why FOX did everything in their power to distance this franchise from the previous one, a strong embrace of the Ultimates allows for a movie nothing like the Tim Story FF movies. Even the costumes will look totally different in this movie.

I personally like the Ultimates because the characters are stronger but naturally prefer the more mature 616 team.

What sells me on this film is the cast and crew of Trank and Kinberg plus the idea of giving the FF a serious tone in the vein of X-Men First Class and Days of Future Past.

He's been confirmed, maybe not as Mole Man just yet though.

I'd love to see Annhilus too.

But there is, there really is.

Like what?

Storytelling, acting, writing, directing ect... Indicates the level of quality of the movie.

Not including accuracy to the comic which isn't a factor in quality, what says the movie will be bad?

The screenwriters most recent movie is sitting at 92% on RT.
The directors most recent movie is sitting at 85% on RT.
The studios most recent superhero movies is sitting at 92% and it's highly praised in the fan community.
The cast seems talented and up-and-comers in Hollywood, one could even be getting an Oscar nom for a movie this year.

:dunno

I'll never understand the 'everything will be bad' people who hate on a movie before there's even a poster let alone footage to form an opinion about.

They to refuse to save face when the movies they campaign against end up being good.

Toby Kebbell actually looks a lot like Vic from Ultimate FF.

OMG he does look like him :lol

:exactly: :clap

Judging a movie completely before even a trailer or poster = :cuckoo:
