The ranger bows where smaller bows and the gondorian bows are rather large. Now as to how much these would work in the real world. I have no idea.

JL, I understand that the Gondorian bows were longer. Until the invention of the Compound Bow, the only way to add power and distance was to increase the size of the bow in order to create more force behind the arrow. However, in order to do this, the arrows themselves needed to be bigger than standard arrows. Pics I have seen show them (and I mean historical long bows/arrows, not LOTR) anywhere from 20 to 50 percent longer. The arrows with Faramir look like re-use from Aragorn and probably Legolas as well. This doesn't work for me. Why spend all the time and detail to get the costume perfect, then cheap out on the arrows? How much could it cost to redo the mold to add length? I really wanted to pose Aragorn at times with a bow, but I doubt I ever will now. Unless they fix Faramir's weapon/ammo, I guess they will go in the supply draw as well

He was talking about arrows. :archer

:lol

See how LOTRFan's Smilie uses his long bow? the arrow is long enough to allow maximum tension on the bow string. If a silly smilie can get this right, why not Sideshow?

Sweet merciful wilikers above and below!!!!! THIS is the figure I have been wanting forever--look at it! It's perfect!!! The costume! The sculpt! The details!!! Watch out CA! You'll be labled with blind obsession, cheerleader, and fanboy. :rotfl

You know, when it comes to Faramir, I'm ok with that. Besides I couldn't get upset by that kinda stuff. I never let my happiness get spoiled by what people say. They just don't know any better. Yay Faramir!!! Whoopee!!!!!!!!!

I try. Sometimes my thick skin has weak spots.

That's only natural. I'm pretty soft compared to most people but I just like people in general, so when they are mean I just forgive them and hope the best for them. Especially here, where there are so many nice people, I could never be offended by anything anybody said. Life seems to be a lot happier for me that way.

As for Faramir, PLEASE Sideshow don't wait too long to get him to us! I am so excited for this figure it's unreal. Look at him! He's amazing! I couldn't imagine a more wonderful rendering of Faramir at all. I have zero complaints, which is funny, because if there had been even one slight minute obscure detail that was even remotely off, I would have gone ballistic. There was no way I would let even the slightest flaw of my favorite hero pass. And you know? I haven't a single complaint. Sideshow, you have done an amazing job. Thank you.

I think the Faramir figure looks fantastic. Only weak spot, in my opinion, is with the eyes but that's most probably a painting issue. The outfit and gear looks simply amazing.

I wasn't ecstatic when I heard the announcement that Faramir would be the next figure. More like "well, ok..." (as I wanted the Fellowship Nine first) But after seeing these pics, I'm really excited about adding him into the collection.

Oh, and ready to pre-order...

yeah at first I was just wanting to collect the fellowship... but after seeing him... I'm definately expanding! :monkey3

I hear ya. I get into heated arguments over a piece especially like you with Faramir if I really really feel a "closeness" so to speak with the piece. It's what is said tha tends to irk me not that people don't like something. If someone doesn't like Faramir and think it's the biggest piece of **** ever. Fine with me but you can say it without dropping to a level below what we here are able to discuss. Either way I need to just continue to blow things off and post my (like you) positive nature and if that rubs folks the wrong way well that's on them. You've got the right attitude about it.

I think it's the nose that's throwing off the sculpt. Atleast looking dead center. I can't place it anywhere else. It's like Mace. Where he looks like SLJ, but something seems off somewhere.
