Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

When the lizard first spoke my fiancee and I looked at each other and agreed that it was a bit crap. The lizard absolutely killed the film for me. One of the lamest villains I've seen in a marvel movie IMO.

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

Indeed. He had no real logical motive.

I don't understand. He wanted to turn everyone into Lizards because...why?

I would guess since he said its no longer about curing, but making everyone into their ultimate form, that would be why. Even if he didn't say that and was speechless throughout the movie why would you think he wants to be the only lizard? Scaly skin, scaly hands... wouldn't make for a happy solo lizard. :monkey4

Maybe he was applying for a job on Promethus. Cause it was full of logic. :lol

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

At least Prometheus gave you nothing so you could infer what was going on.

:lol

Lizard was just making Lizard people because he could. Which is a terrible motive for a villain.

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

Promethus was full of inference. And I liked it. I don't go to the cinema to see comic book movie and expect philosophical questions to be answered. I also don't allow my bias for previous directors *cough* *Raimi* *cough* cloud my judgement.

Connors stated that he had came to the conclusion that humans were weak and that he was the future evolution of human kind. It's quite simple really.

Except when he told us his motive. :lecture

Were you in the bathroom when he talked all about it?

How he wanted to cure weakness in humans but came to realises humans are and always will be weak so he wished to turn them all into a stronger lifeform who are all equal. There was a whole diatribe about it.

Lizard was just making Lizard people because he could. Which is a terrible motive for a villain.

His motive was Much more "logical" than Joker doing crimes... cos he felt like it and gave him opportunity to tell anyone he could about his scars :lol

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

In the comics, and I know this isn't based on any comic, the Lizard, while more animal than man, was intelligent and it seemed that he always wanted to turn the world into lizard people like himself. He thought he was the superior species and that they should dominate the planet. That's the only reason I could think of why they would use that plot point.

I'm begining to think CP went to see Promethus again and hasn't actually seen this at all. LOL.

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

I am not surprised that SM 2 is leading the original trilogy count, but I am surprised theres such a gap between ASM and SM2. :horror

I voted ASM, but I thought it would be closer.

Not that surprising. Time gives perspective. ASM is the hot new thing in the Spider-man world. In a few years time, with the benefit of hindsight, ratings will end up where they should be.

:goodpost::exactly:

Both as a human and a Lizard he talked about his motivations.:dunno

When the Lizard evaluated the results of his turning when he reverted back, he noted increased stamina, improved vision etc, and was becoming addicted to the formula until he developed a split personality and believed that the formula was the next logical evolutionary step to improving all humans. He layed it out in his sewer speech after filming himself the second time. Once the "reptilian" cure hit him and he reverted back he realised what he was doing and got a hold of himseld and caught Peter from falling. None of those people would have likely stayed lizards, rather all reverted back to humans with some scales like himself that had better reflexes and other improved aspects. He wanted to "improve" all humanity and in his addicted mindset believed that was the answer.

SM1 and SM2. Think they're equal so I just voted for 2. Should have probably voted for 1 on second thought

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

For Lizard, I like how they didn't

Kill him off, for one its a nice change. And second it could and thats a BIG could lead into a sinister six situation

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

I really hope the third movie is the sinister six, that would be so awesome

Re: Favorite Spider-Man movie (Don't vote till you've seen em all please)

Reading all the glowing reviews I was really amped to watch this iteration. How could they possibly go wrong? The first 3 set up the initial blueprint. I was just so horribly disappointed.

I read the alleged "cameron treatment" with Electro and I thought that script was pardon the pun, amazing. If they could even capture half that then it would be a decent movie. Now I really wish that Marvel got the rights back to Spiderman.

Now I'm trying to figure out which is worse this or SM3. On the brightside it's one less figure that i'll purchase from hot toys.

Well, it clears it up, but I wish it was more clear. Conners wasn't developed that well IMO.
