Ive got this bill on Thursday.

Freight £129 [I didn't pay that I paid $25.18]
Vat Value Adjustment £6.56
Statue $399

Under that.......

"Valuation Method - Value Adjustment Code A"
A B C D E
B00 A 19.53 F

The vat and duty were £19.53 and £10 to Fedex

Hope that helps.

I looked at the other bill from a month ago [Hellboy Samaritan ex] and its the same charges give or take a few quid.
This bill was for Iron man which is twice the sized box of the Punisher.

Thats great to no this is my first time ordering direct from sideshow with being in the uk and our warehouse is shut down,i was expecting to pay £150 each on both of my £350 items :mad::banghead

Thanks for the heads up i feel much better now :banana:banana:banana

i had a delivery yesterday - but by parcel force?
no damage to box - will i be getting a bill?

They might have had that item left at the EU warehouse like my Darth Maul pf i got from them the other week which also came via parcelforce so you shouldn't get any bill.

Parcelforce don't release until any bill is pre-paid.
It's safe to say you won't get anymore charges.

so parcel force is only used for whats left in the eu?
thats a shame as i just can't seem to order anything from sideshow direct now......
the fedex bill di%$ing is just ridiculous!!

makes everything just bloodly dear!!

To have ordered what i've had recently would have cost me more
from the EU as i'd have had 17.5% [or whatever the exact amount is] plus higher shipping.
I'm more than happy at the moment but I have been getting larger stuff direct nothing under $350.

Well I got my bill for Punisher today and it's at the lower rate:D the code is A and tax was £7.50 plus £10 Fedex charge so I'm one happy bunny, so now Fedex have set a precedent too me and I'll be chasing a refund on the other stuff and any future purchases.:chew

Nice one but your in for a long struggle trying to get vat back off customs.

thats cool for the statue collector but the 1/6 figures are just so dear now -esp with the exchange rate

its a shame you cant use the gift cards and reward points more freely- then it would be worth it but with the current one only and not on preorder policy it makes them nearly worthless to me

Money will be from Fedex not customs, if I've got this right they have paid the tax and you are then refunding them, if they have got it wrong it's their fault not mine, that's why they charge you £10 for handling, so I'll be claiming the money off Fedex if they messed up and lose out not my problem.

Your right, I didn't think about that. Good job too as customs are a pain in the arse to deal with.

Big news and it's good from Fedex they have now said statues should be at reduced rate of 5% so I'm getting refund on last 2 purchases, brilliiant news imho so check those receipts guys and make sure you are getti g it reduced it makes it a lot more desirable to buy direct from SS now:chew

Just got charged US$81 worth of Taxes by Fed-Ex for an order worth US$200 only (Philippine division of Fed-Ex). :banghead

Absurd! And I already paid for whatever tax dues are when I ordered IN THE U.S.A.!!!

If you are an international customer, then you are not charged any taxes stateside as the carrier will collect them for your government.

If you got a delivery from parcel force at this stage, then you specifically ordered from our promotion that was moving the last of the stock from the EU warehouse. This promotion was clearly labeled so that any customers would know where there item was being shipped from.

Well I got my refund through today so Im a happy bunny, will keep their email on the refunds for future reference in case it happens again, buying from SS just got a whole lot cheaper.

Very good for you, really. I wish the Belgian customers could say the same. I guess the Belgian government doesn't make the distinction between statues and toys. I can confirm which has already been mentioned: perhaps statue collectors benefit from SSC's new aproach, but that is definately not the case for 1/6 scale collectors. I buy my 12" figures elseware now. I placed my first order with SSC in 2004, and I wished I could have stayed at least another six years, but unfortunately the $$ discrepancy is just to obvious. Pity.

Fedex rang me today , My Kaneda bike is on the way at a customs cost of 86 euro!!!!

Thats like a 115 dollars.

Dont know how much shipping cost was as sideshow didn't send an invoice because it was Flexpay. I think it was 30-40 dollars judging by my last statement.

The Flexpay route is handy, but worth it???

Just got my bill for the Vader 1:1 bust, It only cost me £54 including the £10 Fedex fee!

I did enough moaning when i thought this was going to be the death of me buying from sideshow so just wanted to say i was wrong and this has worked out great for me. :rock

Hi guys, im a regular over on the statue forum but new to this forum and im after some advise regarding Fedex and their incorrect VAT charges in the UK.

Im currently in the process of questioning my last 2 invoices (a £106 invoice for the Alien Warrior Maquette + £54 for Yoda/clone PF) with Fedex UK regarding being charged 17.5% VAT instead of the reduced rate of 5% VAT.

I've been in contact with them and below is a reply they wrote :

Thank you for your email regarding the VAT charges levied on the following two invoices: ###### and ######.

In order for our brokerage department to process a possible amendment with customsdown to the reduced rate of VAT if due they require confirmation of the true and correct tariff heading from you personally.

We as a company cannot make the decision on whether a commodity should be standard or a reduced rate this is customs call. If the contents should indeed be charged at 5% rather then the standard 17.5% then they will need to provide you with the customs ruling/tariff heading relating to that and not a 3rd party.

Apologies for any inconvenience or confusion caused and look forward to your response so we can hopefully have this resolved.

Does anyone have any ideas how i go about supplying them with the true tariff heading and where i can get this information from??

The strange thing is that my first 2 items that Fedex handled this year (Dooku + Legolas PF's) were charged at 5% but these last 2 have been charged at 17.5% VAT.

Any info would be greatly appriecated.
