So after all the debate on ABS vs. polystone, here's what it amounts to, not my pics btw:

I can't honestly say that I am all that impressed. I know it will look incredible, but there still exists a psychological barrier in my mind when I see this statue broken down like this. Yes, I have seen the de-construction of PFs in the past (LAM during SDCC), but at the very least they had polystone seams, etc; small difference? Maybe, but it was more digestible for me.

Looks different that's for sure. However, if he looks great on the outside then IMO that's what my money is buying. As Brant said PF doesn't mean Polystone Format.

Kinky... man, one can only imagine what some guys do on the weeknds--- scratch that. I don't think I want my mind's eye to go there.

:monkey4

The pics are from a member over at the Statue Forum, he was saying how he is interested in changing the pose some.

Funny, he also mentioned that when he opened it up he found a polystone slab thrown-in, to give the added appearance of some weight?! :google

Attached to the feet?

The polystone, no apparently not; it was in the costume itself. Sadly, there wasn't a pic of this, and I am not about to go tearing mine apart to find it.

If true...that's pretty damming

Wow some amazing pictures. Thanks for posting. I guess that is one benefit of ABS plstic. I don't think nayone would have attempted this with polystone. Cancelled my order, but I don't know still. People seem happy with Boba, but not overjoyed, ya' know. Like I would have expected.

Just to clue you in on the real world... oil company spokesman, real estate sales people, and the White House Press Secretary are all pro-employer and say anything to schill the world into believing their entity is looking out for everyone's best interests. In reality, they promote and protect the people that sign their paychecks. Brant works for Sideshow and doesn't represent the best interests of the collector. PF will soon mean Pathetic Format if SS keeps trying to pass off ABS media as premium.

Even as the evidence in picture stares you in the face, you continue to be pro-Boba, convincing yourself that the $325 price tag was worth it. It's called denial.

I saw these pictures earlier and I hate to be a hater but the first thing that came to my mind was- action figure. I would have been happy if the body had been polystone and maybe even sculpted. I am still very content with my decision to cancel Fett. Another post said that people aren't too happy or overjoyed with their Fetts and I have noticed that too. We got a couple of threads dedicated to him but no where near the usual celebration. I know some may hate to admit it but this plastic controversy has hurt the Fett PF.

I would disagree that sideshow is going to start using lesser materials for the PF's. Whether ABS is an inferior material or not has been debated so we'll leave that part alone. At any rate I think that the decision to use ABS instead of polystone was to make the statue the best it could be with the options available. I don't have any evidence for this except that the explanation does make sense, and I've seen Sideshow put out reasons that don't always make sense. Either way I don't think we'll be seeing very much ABS used in place of polystone or I think it would have been done with Maul. I guess its a situation where only time will tell as the line goes along.

Or it could just be that denial is a nice place to swim.

I like swimming in denial. :D

Doesn't have a sculpted look at all. Luke with his shirt off did. Very sad. It really does look cheap.

I really don't get the complaint with this. I mean, when are you going to pose it with all it's clothes off?

My complaint is it's costing $300 for an 18" plastic figure. I don't care how it's spun, it just seems over priced for a static plastic figure.

Kind of my thought honestly. Call it denial or whatever you want towards me I'm just tossing out my two cents. :)

wonder what the reasoning for polystone slab is?

to ease the people's minds who associate weight with quality?
