It's a balance thing, needed for it to remain firmly on your shelf. And none of the PFs are detail sculpted where they will be covered with cloth.

These things used to be made with ABS and a wire form with foam over it and no one complained about that.

Everybody knows that Polystone is just polyurethane with some stone power in it, right? So what this appears to be about is if dirty plastic is somehow worth more than clean plastic.

That was my point when the Fett news hit. Plastic is plastic really when it comes to these.

everyones got a 1/4 scale boba thats indestructable..drop it and it'll be o.k....no more worries about damage during shipping if you flip it:monkey1

Me personally, I am through with being upset or disappointed. I am happy for those that got Boba but I am still ultimately very glad that I cancelled because it would have bothered me. No need to rehash the whole debate. Let's just let others enjoy their collectibles.:)

The problem is its over-priced, your paying $325.00 for a piece of plastic and some cloth.

...which is my point. If he'd been polystone, you'd be paying $325 for a piece of plastic with some sand in it, and some cloth.

That must be *some* sand if people think it makes the difference.

I don't know - for the price I think it's pretty chintzy. Doesn't ABS plastic leak acid over time and crack? My brother has polystone statues from the late 60s that are pretty much prestine.

Don't think so...ABS doesn't dissolve in acids. It's vulnerable to acetone, however, so don't spill nail polish remover on your Fett.

Alright ... I waited and waited. But now, it HAS to be said....

nice sculpt:monkey1

Really when you think about it you are taking one of the 12" line, doubling the size, and then charging the consumer 5-6 times the 12" price. Sideshow is making an absolute killing on Boba Fett. A huge ES and a figure made in a foreign country out of plastic, cardboard, and a little material. Wow!! If this is how you guy's want all your PF's in the future more power to you.

I would have to agree with Shai here. No one who is disagreeing is claiming the item is crap. Just that it's overpriced for what it is. The people on the other side seem to feel somehow insulted that someone would question the quality of the piece. Yet, I don't see that as being the case. Case in point, I finally got a Medicom Vader for 105 bucks and I love it. However, I would NEVER have paid the initial retail of 189 to 200. It wasn't worth that to me. That's how I think most of the complainers (myself included)feel about Boba. In all honesty, I would rather have a 12" Medi Fett at 150 than a 18 inch non-articulated plastic Fett at 350. But no ones going to change anyone's mind, so .... Can't we all just get along?

P.S. I had another perfect pic for that last cultural quote, but I figured I took the chance of a DannieDarko lawyer hitting me up for copyright infringement....

People who are saying it's overpriced aren't being accurate.

They really mean that the perceived value for them isn't as high as it would be if it were polystone. However SSC is making just as much or as little profit on this piece as any other PF, and probably a little less (due to the tooling). So in that regard, how can it be "overpriced?"
