Well I got free tix so I'm going tonight. You'll hear my full b*tch and moan in the morning:rotfl

Let me know if Dead or Alive is better. lol

I can't believe DOA is being released on the big screen. Remember this movie was on the internet? It wasn't even worth watching for free! Ugh! I feel sorry for anyone who plugs away 9 bucks at this thing.

DOA's been on DVD here in denmark for a month... and they are selling it for half of what normal movies sell for:lol It's sucks so bad they have to slash the price from the beginning:lol

I just got back from taking my son and daughter, and they had a lot of fun and enjoyed the movie very much. I personally felt that this was a much better film than the first. Julian McMahon had minimal screen time :)chew ), the cheese factor was greatly reduced (although not eliminated), and there was actually a plot and a larger scale threat/agenda for the heroes to deal with compared to the first film. I think that if the critics hadn't seen the other one, they would be more friendly towards this--but the negative feelings about the first will inevitably be carried over into this one and people won't give it a chance. As far as Galactus goes, I can see that they wanted to introduce both him and Silver Surfer here, yet save a true reveal for the spinoff. Time (and box office returns) will tell whether or not that happens, but I think you can argue that there was something in that cloud.

While I understand and sympathize with those fans who would have rather seen a film aimed at a more adult audience, I am glad to have a superhero movie that I can take my kids to see without them getting bored or frightened. This was a good hour shorter than Superman Returns or Spider-Man 3 or Batman Begins, and while I prefer those to FF2, my kids would vote for this one any day of the week. So for the right audience, this is a fun and colorful summer comic book movie that doesn't overstay its welcome or drown you in pathos. In fact, I think I enjoyed myself more today than when I saw SM3 last month.

I just saw it and really enjoyed it. One of the funnest movies I've been to in a while. What they did with Silver Surfer was flawless. Can't wait for a movie featuring him.

Other than the Silver Surfer, this one was horrible. Worse than the first one. WTF was with the Sue's blue contacts and blue eye makeup?? It made her look funky, and she cannot act. There were a few funny moments like the rock slide joke.

1-10 I give it a 3

Fox no doubt expects FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER to perform at least as well as the original did at the box office (though they're, of course, hoping it outperforms the original by a wide margin) so it's no surprise that they're already looking to develop (Note: registration required to access the site) a solo project for the film's titular argent star. They've set TV and comic writer J. Michael Straczynski to pen the screenplay and, in an effort to appease the fans that were downright disgusted by RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER's ******* PG rating, they're hoping The Surfer's film skews considerably darker and grittier than his blue spandex-wearing companions' pictures. Straczynski, a former writer for "The Twilight Zone" and "Babylon 5", is quite familiar with The Surfer's world, having recently published the first of four issues of a "Silver Surfer: Requiem" series. More importantly, though, what do you guys think about The Surfer getting his own flick?

OK, No spoilers here (check down below) but I'll sum it up quick what I thought.

1- Better than 1
2- Still sucked
3- Cop out ending
4- Doom is still a suck-wad

SPOILERS BELOW.

I don't wanna put any spoilers up, but Galactus was a cop out. He wasn't actually a cloud, he just like....lived in one, but you still never seem him. The best you get is a firey outline of his helmet for 2 seconds. LAME. ALSO, They lame up the F4 wedding., In the comics it was way cooler.

I'm not spoiled. I can't be spoiled for something I have no plans on seeing anyway. I have a lot better things to do than spend money and waste time watching it. Like *****ing about with my Freak family!

I KNOW RIGHT!?!?! I mean she isn't the right complexion naturally pull off the Sue Storm look, but what they did with her in 2 made her look like a Vivid Porn star. You know, not the super skeezy ones, but the porn stars who look like they shower. Still just looked weird, like she was CG or something. Gross.

People always got to fuss about something. Can't just be satisfied with what they get. Like to see some of these people do a better job. :D
;)

[Watch for falling spoilers ahead]

I saw it last night, along with my brother and my (grown) son, and we all loved it. We didn't think the Galactus teaser-reveal was lame, it was pretty obvious that they wanted to give people a glimpse, but save the character for the Silver Surfer film. Nothing wrong with that.

And yeah, so they changed part of Doom's character. But so what? It doesn't change the comic books retroactively. Taken for what it is (rather than dissecting it frame by frame against the comics), the movie was very entertaining, and (IMO) still very true to the spirit of the comic and its characters.

The interaction between Johnny and Ben was great, the new plane was pretty cool, the effects (other than Alba's makeup ;)) were very impressive, and Reed and Sue did get hitched, even if it was presented differently than in the comics. But again, so what? The comics are still there, and always will be. I find it odd that people are so accepting of radical (and sometimes ridiculous) changes to other superheroes (Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man all come to mind), but no one is willing to give the Fantastic Four a break.

4/5 stars for me.

I absolutely loved it, it is like the difference between X-Men and X-2 and Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.
The Surfer was dead on.
Doom looked perfect.
The action was great.
The movie was very funny in certain spots.
The time length, I believe, worked to the advantage of the story. It never felt rushed or too drawn out.
I will absolutely see it again.

I just came back from seeing it and i thought it was great, better then the first one. One thing i would like to change is Doom's voice, it sounds too clean. I want to hear that grimy, robotic-like voice they used in the old cartoons.

Robodad, give me the money they used to make this movie, and I would do better.

I'm not satisfied, but this isn't a movie where 1 or 2 little things bugged me and I'm allowing it to ruin it for me rather than a movie where 9-10 huge and important things bugged me. My hate is quite called for. But I'm also not gonna rag on someone who does like it, just difference of tastes.

I liked it, i thought it was better def better than the first and better than SM3. Only thing I questioned was Galactus being blown up so easily.

It was not a cimematic gem by any means but it was enjoyanle for me and my kids. The F4 are my favorite group in comics. I liked how they brought out Reed's leadership skills in this film. He was so wimpy in the first that it made me sick. Ben and Johnny were great. I still wished that they would work on Doom. He should not be a used car salesman with armor. he is supposed to he an arrogant but honorable dictator. In these films, he is just slimey. Not true to the character. The surfer was great. Galactus was a bit of a let down but overall it was enjoyable but it was geared for kids and not for the comic fan.

I don't think Galactus, or Galactica as the Philadelphia Inquirer called him, was blown up. I believe he was just rejected by the Silver Surfer. Even thought he has The Power Cosmic, the Surfer could never defeat Galactus.
