Although, there might be hope now that Portugal is getting crushed. Suddenly, the door opens for the US IF they beat Ghana. A big if.

This tournament barely registers a blip on the radar in this country, the US team would have to win it all for it's popularity to pick up and that isn't going to happen.

Germany wasn't that impressive, but then again, they didn't really have to... with that early goal and Pepe getting sent out, Germany could just take its time.
I feel bad for Ronaldo, he's a fantastic player.

I think the team or better yet the country would need something to rally around for the tournament to really grip interest nationally here.

Messi's teammates were piss poor last night and he had to literally do something all alone to pull them out. Every pass he made they couldnt put the ball on target, he had to literally play the ball from the defence to bring it upto the attack. Its times like this when your whole team is playing like bull that the big names have to really do something special. Its not possible but ifyou do it you get hailed. Like Messi did, last night.

If you are unfortunate and cant, you get booed like Ronaldo got. Which is wrong. No player (except maybe crazy Pepe) deserves to be booed.

I don't know, I'm assuming you saw Ronaldo, Figo or Zidane play "back in the day", even if the team mates of their respective national teams were piss poor, they used to carry the team on their shoulders...

Zidane alone was the reason France reached final in 2006.
