I am disgusted at the amount of screen time the ad for the super bowl gets. (Visit Whatever town.com) It's like, Okay even in our world cup I have to see that commercial show up at every single commercial break at least twice....

yeah you wouldn't see it. but here before the game, during the middle and at the end they play the super bowl ad like 2-3 times, we are being bombarded with it.

You were spot on. Just finished the game and Australia accounted themselves accordingly. I thought this would be a proper flogging by mighty Holland. Sure would have been nice if they could have squeezed a point from the match. By the way, that third goal needs to be stopped. It was dubious at best.

Back to Cahill. To strike the ball out of mid-air with that type of pace and placement is seldom seen. Just draw-dropping. That was on par with Van Persie's header.

Well, on to Spain vs. Chile. Surely, Spain should win this.

Oh my goodness, Spain lost and are out of the tournament. What a precipitous fall by this great team of players. The golden age of Spanish soccer is over.

This team should be celebrated for their achievements though. Two European Championships and a World Cup championship in a period of 4 years is extraordinary. I doubt we will see this type of run in the near future.

I hear that there's a new generation of young, talented players coming up for them. They won't be down for too long.

I understand wasting time while you're ahead is considered 'smart play' but what ever happened to 'fair play?' Watching these top levels teams acting in such an un-sportsmanship behavior is pathetic.
