To be fair I don't agree with the Rooney criticism but I don't think he should be guaranteed a starting place every time either. I thought he was poor in these past 2 games. Yeah he scored a goal & did a great cross for Sturridge to score against Italy but that was it really. Had he taken his chances he could easily be on 4 or 5 goals this tournament

But if I was to blame anyone it would be Roy Hodgson. I just don't rate him, never had done & since being England manager he hasn't changed my mind

And how the **** is Welbeck getting in the starting 11?

I would have just liked to have seen Rooney started in his correct position and if he was poor playing there, then rightly so he should have been dropped.
I dont think he would have been but we didnt get to see that. I agree Roy made mistakes. He should have played Lalana in both games from the left with Rooney inside and Sterling down the right. Lambert probably should have come on against Italy aswell.
Im not sure how I feel. I always wanted Harry to get the job but I dont think England actually played that bad yet we are out after 2 games.

I just feel really sorry for the England fans that have tickets for the costa Rica game. What an atmosphere that will be lol.

I have never understood why England managers think playing someone out of their natural position is a good idea. No matter who it's been in charge they've all done it with one player or other and then wondered why they didn't get the best out of them.

Argentina wouldn't randomly put Messi in goal and Portugal wouldn't switch Ronaldo into a defensive position because it would be restricting their ability to do what they do best. It's not rocket science, yet it seems that England managers and coaches haven't grasped it.

'Arry as England manager would have been worthwhile just for all the interviews conducted through his car window :lol

I'll probably watch the Belgium game later to see if I can catch another of those rare Fellaini goals and then see if Ronaldo can get off the mark against the USA.

Is very strange . We always seem to do it. Lampard, Gerrard, Cole.... I think I even remember Darren Bents first start , he got pushed out right wing lol.
What I have never got with England is why we dont play like a premiership side ? why dont we play quick one, two touch football ?
We have the fastest league in the world yet our national side plays so slow. I think Harry would have atleast tried to adapt that style.
And he probably would have tried to buy a pallet load of Brazilians to improve us before the transfer deadline :slap

Must win game for Portugal . Although we are out, im really looking forward to the Italy Uruguay game.

That tie yesterday between Germany and Ghana makes that United States win against Ghana look more impressive.

Just can't wait until the US vs Portugal game later today. Beat Portugal and advance to the next round.

You think itll be easy against Portugal? Ghana played horrible against the US and stellar against Germany... that was the reason you won. Portugal dont want to go out in the group stages, they will do anything for a win. The thing is to limit Ronaldo on the wongs and Joao Moutinho's influence in the middle. Unless Klinsmann does that and US plays very disciplined, itll be a lost case. Dont understimate Portugal. You saw how just one world class player can change a game at anytime yesterday in the Iran Argentina match.

Don't get your undies in a bunch. Who said it would be easy against Portugal? I'm the one who said the US wouldn't make it out of the Group Stage. Sure, Ghana didn't play it's best game against the US but not giving any credit to the Americans is wrong. It's the old standby sports cliché....."Your team didn't win, the other team didn't play well."

Looking forward to another team playing horrible so the United States can win since they surely can't win by playing well.

Pretty boring game so far. Mertens is quality and has been a constant threat, other than that, Belgium are yet again looking average. Russia probably should have had a penalty, as well.

Lukaku looks a shadow of the player he is at his best.

Fellaini appears to be on performance enhancing drugs as he's completed more than 3 successful passes in a single half, which is probably a career best.

Despite posing little threat to Belgium the Russians did have the best chance of the game but made a mess of a clear header.

Yeah, Lukaku has been useless in the two games. Shame that Benteke is injured.

:lol Fellaini is on fire by his standards.

If Fellaini continues at this rate he might achieve mediocrity :lol

Hazard brought the game to life in the last few minutes. The way he goes past players like they aren't there is reminiscent of a young Giggs or Ronaldo.

I had it on while doing work around the house and it took me until Belgium scored to realize that Russia wasn't in the red :rotfl
