Manuel Neuer's blooper.
To be fair I don't agree with the Rooney criticism but I don't think he should be guaranteed a starting place every time either. I thought he was poor in these past 2 games. Yeah he scored a goal & did a great cross for Sturridge to score against Italy but that was it really. Had he taken his chances he could easily be on 4 or 5 goals this tournament
But if I was to blame anyone it would be Roy Hodgson. I just don't rate him, never had done & since being England manager he hasn't changed my mind
And how the **** is Welbeck getting in the starting 11?
I would have just liked to have seen Rooney started in his correct position and if he was poor playing there, then rightly so he should have been dropped.
I dont think he would have been but we didnt get to see that. I agree Roy made mistakes. He should have played Lalana in both games from the left with Rooney inside and Sterling down the right. Lambert probably should have come on against Italy aswell.
Im not sure how I feel. I always wanted Harry to get the job but I dont think England actually played that bad yet we are out after 2 games.
I just feel really sorry for the England fans that have tickets for the costa Rica game. What an atmosphere that will be lol.
Is very strange . We always seem to do it. Lampard, Gerrard, Cole.... I think I even remember Darren Bents first start , he got pushed out right wing lol.I have never understood why England managers think playing someone out of their natural position is a good idea. No matter who it's been in charge they've all done it with one player or other and then wondered why they didn't get the best out of them.
Argentina wouldn't randomly put Messi in goal and Portugal wouldn't switch Ronaldo into a defensive position because it would be restricting their ability to do what they do best. It's not rocket science, yet it seems that England managers and coaches haven't grasped it.
'Arry as England manager would have been worthwhile just for all the interviews conducted through his car window
I'll probably watch the Belgium game later to see if I can catch another of those rare Fellaini goals and then see if Ronaldo can get off the mark against the USA.
Pretty boring game so far. Mertens is quality and has been a constant threat, other than that, Belgium are yet again looking average. Russia probably should have had a penalty, as well.
Lukaku looks a shadow of the player he is at his best.
Fellaini appears to be on performance enhancing drugs as he's completed more than 3 successful passes in a single half, which is probably a career best.
Despite posing little threat to Belgium the Russians did have the best chance of the game but made a mess of a clear header.
Yeah, Lukaku has been useless in the two games. Shame that Benteke is injured.
Fellaini is on fire by his standards.
