You are right . We have done that in the past and it has not worked. But Rooney deserved to go. He was second english top scorer behind Sturridge last season in what was a poor season for United. Jay Rodriguez is injured so your left with Andy Carroll who plays for West Ham and Defoe who plays in the states.
I know who'd id take but if you can name someone who scored more or was more deserving, im all ears.

Defoe might have been a better choice.

I'm just amazed at all the people defending Rooney after these games. Did these people watch the game? Rooney has stated he's the best ever and he plays like garbage. It's time people were more critical and held players accountable. Rooney will go back to united and demand more money cause he had to sweat and his wig got torn. And united and their fans will bend over and give him more money. And as they keep losing they will remember the glory years.

The convenient thing is their neighbors have been winning and they can easily turn their backs on united and support city. As a few on this thread have done. :lol

"You're not winning?" Waaaaa I'll stop supporting you and buy a city jersey.

Im a spurs fan and love defoe but ahead of rooney ? Na. You pick Defoe and he does nothing, Roy gets roasted for picking a player who has scored less goals and is playing in a much weaker league.
Id say it was more the other way with people starting a witch hunt and looking for someone to blame. Phil Neville, Hargreaves, Beckham and now Rooney.
I dont think Gerrard played particularly well and set up the opposition again in a major tournament but that goes unmentioned.

I just think Roy made a few wrong decisions tactically and we were naive.

Damn it, I forgot to state my predictions on here today. :slap

And this would have been the day I would have guessed all three correctly. :wink1: :lol

Germany vs. Ghana....what a game and Argentina just keep on rolling. :yess:

That list of players has a theme to it which makes it pretty easy to work out which fans start the witch hunts :lol

Rooney got one goal and an assist. He didn't set the world on fire but nobody else in the England side did any better.

Rumor has it the real reason Ronaldo left for Madrid was because he saw Welbeck coming through the youth ranks and decided it was time to abandon ship :lol

If Louis Van Gaal wants to become an instant favorite as United manager he can start by disposing of him as quickly as possible, either by selling him to whoever is stupid enough to want him, or by assembling a firing squad :lol

In the meantime he has a World Cup to win. Barring the usual internal meltdowns that Holland tend to have I think they're more than capable of doing so.

To be fair I don't agree with the Rooney criticism but I don't think he should be guaranteed a starting place every time either. I thought he was poor in these past 2 games. Yeah he scored a goal & did a great cross for Sturridge to score against Italy but that was it really. Had he taken his chances he could easily be on 4 or 5 goals this tournament

But if I was to blame anyone it would be Roy Hodgson. I just don't rate him, never had done & since being England manager he hasn't changed my mind

And how the **** is Welbeck getting in the starting 11?

I can't really comment on the games too much as I never watched them. Despite my best attempts at avoiding it all I saw a couple of clips of the goals on the news and that's all I could stomach.

No player should be guaranteed a starting place but it seems like England always have one or two that're untouchable, usually because they're the most marketable.

The only possible explanation I have for Welbeck even making it to professional level is that he somehow acquired footage of a drunk Fergie urinating on the statues of Best, Law and Charlton whilst wearing a Liverpool shirt.

As his England career goes I think he gets in the team because Woy is a plonker who buys into the idea that all Man Utd youngsters since the Class of '92 are decent players.

Nothing could be further from the truth....there hasn't been a good one SINCE the Class of '92.

:lol That is indeed a nice sunset. I'm just messing with ya, wall-to-wall games, you need a break in there somewhere. My missus has been a trooper... she's picking up my slack all over the show.

Desperately unlucky BosniaHerz, but well done Nigeria.
