I know we have all been there, itching for something new and didn't want to shell out for it. So you unload a previous purchase (or two...maybe 3) to fund the new figure. I recently did this to pick up the Enterbay 1:4 Terminator 2 T-800 figure by selling my HT T2 T-800. It was simple enough for me, since the figure was going to buy something with much higher quality overall.

HOWEVER I could not bring myself to part with the Hot Toys Terminator Salvation T:700 figure; I know that what I really want is the T-800 and if they re-release it sometime down the pipeline (or Enterbay delivers a 1:4 scale version) I'll definetly pick one up. But there is just something about the T-700, maybe its because of its texture or it's just because I absolutly love the Terminator design :dunno. I don't know, but I just could't bring myself to let it hit the evil bay.

What your story of the figure you just couldn't bring yourself to part with?

I could part with anything for the right price.

Money talks :lecture

:exactly: I've been cutting down my collection recently & selling off everything other than my Iron Man figure's, Predators, Vader & Stormtrooper. I wouldn't say I'd never sell them but it would cost an amount you'd have to be insaine to pay to get me to part with them.

That very T2 T-800 that you said you parted with with ease. It's an impossible feat I should say for me to part with it, unless someone offered a crapload of cash or I'm in desperate need of cash. I just don't see myself unloading him. Sure there is a better version of the T2 T-800 out there, but there isn't a better 1/6th scale version of the T2 T-800 out there.

I was googling for an awesome movie iron man fig when I stumbled across the prototype MKIV pictures. My first ever preorder.

HT Mark IV will be mine forever along with my G1 Optimus Prime.

:goodpost::exactly:

we have a winner here.

I agree, for the right price I would be willing to let any of my figures go. BUT I think it was a mixture of the T-700 not increasing THAT much in value and the fact that there aren't any replacements on the horizon that would make it worth my while to sell.

Other than that:

DX Indiana Jones,
DOTM DMK Optimus Prime (repainted from scratch)
McFarlane Sleepy Hollow Headless Horseman (childhood gift from parents)

100% correct imo. I have sold many pieces that I absolutely loved but the price was too right. HT's Robocop (all 3 versions) OC Batman, Wolverine. I'd have to have rocks in my head to sell these 5 pieces right? $1500 later i'f beg to differ. Plus you need to consider the idea of re-releases too. Of all 5 figures I sold (that i'd never part with I said) all will be re-released. Batman - yup, Robocop - 2012, Wolverine - speculated to be out this year.

So? Money talks.

Sideshow alien 3 Maquette
Hot toys Power Loader with ripley
Hot toys Blade 2
Sideshow T2 battle damaged Endo
Sideshow Jaws Maquette

I probably couldn't part with my Enterbay Jack Bauer, my two HT King Leonidas'...or my DX Joker ;)

HT Wolverine
HT Leonidis
Lord Thor Helmet
Neca King Kong (angry face)
Electronic Robby the Robot and Lost in Space Robot
24 inch Kiss Destroyer collection and Love Gun boxed set
Herculoids collection + Hannah Barbera Birdman and Blue Falcon
Muppets collection

Like the man said before, Money talks with the rest of the collection!

I used to say I could never ever sell my HT ed-209 figure. Then I went shooting with a buddy of mine. He owns a glock 21. I fired 4 clips through it and now I want one. All of a sudden ed-209's not looking so safe. So I guess it all depends. I absolutely will never ever sell a figure I like......until something I like more comes along.

I am the same. I have him sitting on a 1/6 scale Testors Road King which I modified to closely resemble the FatBoy he rides in the movie. Makes him look like a million dollars.

I would've had an actual answer to this thread, but lately, I'm starting to realize I never will. Which is a good thing, technically.
