Didn't they do a reissue of their Bleach figure but as a repaint or something? Maybe a reissue for Cloud with OG-accurate clothing colours and an alternate sword ie. Hardedge would be a possibility, based on that.
I’ve not watched bleach so I could be wrong but I think they were technically different characters?

I doubt GT will produce a reissue this soon if ever.

On top of that, I doubt GT will accept any order from TW or any vendors foolish enough to submit an order on behalf of TW given all that is known/revealed short of requiring a non-refundable hefty deposit upfront.

I doubt most will truly comprehend (or accept) the downstream ramifications of what TW did that affects the hobby as a whole. What TW did can financially ruin and even close a 1:6 brand when they don't pay money due for products produced and shipped to them from a 1:6 brand/manufacturer.

I guess such matters are irrelevant and trivial to some within this very thread because it doesn't directly impact them as long as they get what they want/paid for, but apparently a number of posts/replies cast doubt on that when it comes to TW with false misplaced hope.

The last similar instance I recollect happened around 2015/2016 with a prolific UK based vendor called Mother's Basement. They took large pre-orders for HT figures from many customers, but due to questionable business practices and lack of transparency, they ended up taking money from many customers and never delivering any product. Furthermore, they defaulted on money owed to a number of suppliers for products that the suppliers had to write off as a loss because Mother's Basement took shipment and never paid and/or was unable to pay for the shipment to be delivered. Many customers had to file claims through their bank card and PayPal with varying results. Those who paid from bank deposit accounts were not eligible for a refund due to limitations and time passed.

Kit I have a question:

How does TW closing it’s doors affect you or other vendors?
They are already affecting us by providing fake information, leads to many email/messages everytime when they sending invoice for something not released. I don't have such big CS team. I get panic, verify with supplier, then reply customers one by one, all unnecessary workload really piss me off

Also, there are a few oversea stores ran into financial issue too, not just the said store, they can't pay for their order or try to dropout their order which cause suppliers doubt all oversea stores reputation including hong kong stores. They increase the deposit rate to play safe

I asked a few suppliers - we cooperated for so many years, you can't trust on me? They both have similar answers - Well.. those guys who dropped out orders recently, they don't have problem in the past too, take it as new policy that apply on everyone

I got a call from my paypal account manager back in September last year, she said paypal is going to hold 25% our total funds for 60 days. It's risk management decision apply to all vendors who mainly deal with preorders (transaction with no tracking info). I don't know if the new paypal policy affect other vendors but it seems problems came out since then

People need eye catching tactics to attract customers, like no deposit/ switch deposit to other product. It may works and I know people appreciate that, but when things happen it could kill the business. I always try to stick to my rules, playing safe. People might think I am stubborn and stupid, but I am glad that we can keep the business healthy, survive from the pandemic hit. I don't need a lot stock clearance sales activity :p

Sorry I went too far, back to the topic, how does one big store closing affect us?

Some might think other stores could take over their business which is good

I see the butterfly effect when someone breaks the trust among the chain, we will be charged by higher and higher deposit. Paypal may increase the % of fund holding, customers will stop buying from HK stores, exactly like what those suppliers told me :- Can you tell me who will be next? How can I confirm you aren't the next?

Wow...thanks for the info Kit.

Damn that really sucks. Would asking for a higher deposit from regular customers (or just customers in general) help the process with regards to suppliers and PayPal? If it helps, I’m sure many here including myself wouldn’t mind as long as it helps your business, should anything major happen with TW that will cause a chain reaction.

If I said this, you’ll know who I am...Kit哥! 啊不是, Kit仔! =P

haha I know who you are!

I am a negative guy, always prepare for worst case scenario, so our finance is fine

I don't mind to charge no deposit if everyone will honor their orders, but it's not realistic, we can't predict what's going to happen tomorrow, people may get in trouble in real life etc.. Also, if some figure end up disappointing, people will dropout because 1/6 figure is so expensive, it is totally understandable

A small deposit could help us to lower the stocking cost, I insist to take that..

One thing i really can’t understand

HK government providing company loans, even with banks you can loan money easily for less than 5% interest rate

unless they have zero credit with banks

why losing 15% on preorders? Just hoping it’s not a plan to screw all people…

Wouldn't call that 'negative' Kit, I'd say you are just being Meticulous and there is nothing with that. Must do what is best for your business and your customers. :)

From one perspective that seems right to be honest, that way somehow they protect good clients, buyer's and sellers.
Smaller honest and good service businesses though will struggle a bit.

Is GunDamit a good store? I’m confused as to why they have items listed that haven’t been officially announced. Seems odd to me that they have the 2 deathnote characters and Tifa up for pre-order.

I asked a few pages ago and was told they are reputable!

A question for you.

Did you contact them to ask about the odd pre-order availability?

If yes, what did they say?

If no, why not?

Speaking of GameToys Sephiroth

One of my customer told me today:
---------------------------------------------------------------
""It’s the GameToys Sephiroth that I preordered…to go with the Cloud figure that you helped me hunt down. Now they are sold out everywhere and marked up like crazy.

Even-though they sent me tracking in December, it wasn’t until I prompted them that they mentioned shipping was “halted.” They sent me another email offering me to pay extra $100 to ship EMS. I said to them I will wait if they can promise to keep the figure safe and not sell it to another customer.

All of a sudden they sent me last week that my order was canceled. When I asked them why they said that it’s because of the “clammy weather”""
---------------------------------------------------------------

It happened last week, until today he hasn't got his refund yet

PS: During the last 3 months, he was talking to 3 CS - Gianna, Killian.. and now we have David!

Yes it is, I bought a lot from them, always fast and precise.
I was finally able to buy Cloud + Daytona, they just shipped using two packages, I used showzstore a lot as well, always a good experience with them.

I wonder if they actually have all these Customer Service people or whether it's the same 1-2 people who change their signature to make it appear that they have a full team.

Also, that might be one of the most insane responses I've ever seen, and most likely a bold face lie.

The same thing actually happened to me with Sephiroth, minus the box magically getting destroyed. Sephiroth came in and they didn't ship him for weeks until I emailed them asking about an update... Then suddenly they reached out about shipping options.

Is KGHobby still having issues with shipping? It's been more than 3 months since a release of a figure and they still havent shipped. Unfortunately, shipping is a common issue these days. Thankfully, kit is amazing and ships out the products immediately.
