You can't be serious šŸ˜‚ For this being a 2025 figure, the visible joints are disappointing. Not to mention a deluxe price for little accessories. Even Gametoys gives you a Versus 13 option. You must work for them lol
impressive how hard it is for people to grasp differing tastes. itā€™s $120 for an extremely solid, game-accurate premium action figure of noct. thatā€™s fine. not every figure needs to be cloth & fully seamless thatā€™ll deteriorate within 5 years.

Yea I wouldn't compare play arts with gametoys since they serve different functions at different price points.

That said the globs of paint on the hair remind me of an old bootleg figure I got. I'm actually a little shocked they would take a high res close up photo of it to promote the new price increase. I imagine the production model will have even lower quality, but hopefully it turns out good.

i think heā€™s hand painted since itā€™s an early proto model? i doubt the globs would be present on a final release model.. but weā€™ll see, lol, it is square after all. their qc has improved but iā€™ll be waiting till release on all their stuff regardless

I didnā€™t pay much more than that for Gametoys Cloud. So I think itā€™s a pretty fair comparison.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. One is more of a display piece and the other is more of a toy.

There is something nice about having a figure you can pose carefree and not have the fabric or silicon deteriorate, which is what I think the OP wants.

Also it's probably more fair to compare prices with the upcoming gt noctis, which is closer to $300 than a release from nearly 3 years ago. Still... play arts feels expensive for the quality imo

the head is really good. compared to that most recent update pic from gametoysā€¦ itā€™s not all that different, honestly. hell, they got the eye shape better than the gt, they didnā€™t do the sharp ends at all. square is making huge progress on the line imo

The Play Arts head looks like a really bad knock off to be honest with some really messy mold cuts.. and the GT is only $50 more for a better head sculpt, better paint, silicon arms, no visible joints, fabric clothes.

$50? How much was your PO?
I'm seeing prices of like $270 compared to $120. Obviously gametoys looks better, but not everyone is looking to drop that much for a figure.

Btw my PO is with gundamit where the final price is still "unknown," should I be concerned or are they legit?

Gundamit is certainly legit, bought a few Gametoys items from them. Though, they are slower on getting stock and shipping

Got a decent deal on a SD Aerith set, had to buy the body. Toys Era isnā€™t inspiring much hope lately lol, in before it finally releases this week šŸ’€

Toys Era has gone completely silence, their last update was mid 2024 for their Joel figure which did release but nothing since

and I think the last Aerith update was her seamless arms but that was back in late 2023 I think

Very sad, this Aerith from Toys Era was in very good quality in the prototypes, I still have hopes that it will be released at some point

November last year I believe Leon posted the seamless arms

I can't paint for the life of me but I'm happy with how this turned out. Low key a little shocked that the rolling actually worked in the end.
