First Sideshow Purchase

My first Sideshow item was Jason 7 from Ebay... But my first online, direct from SSC, preorder item was Jedi Luke. I remember having a heart attack for months, thinking the wait was going to be forever. Now I hardly notice.

Mine was the General Grievous EX, I got it a SDCC a couple years ago when they were announcing they had like 5 that just found or something. I kept looking at it over and over and finally took the bait and ordered one.

My first Sideshow item was actually a gift for my wife (then fiancée) I picked up when my job sent me to SDCC for the first time in 2004: the "Mawmet" Polystone Statue from the World of Froud Trixie Pixie line. The cool thing is, I actually purchased it directly from Brian and Wendy Froud, and they both signed the piece! My wife is obsessed with Labyrinth/Froud/etc, so this was the perfect gift!

A funny side note, when Brian asked me who to dedicate it to, I mentioned it was for my "darling fiancée, Tina"...so he actually wrote "For my darling fiancée, Tina. -Brian Froud." When she saw the signature, she laughed and asked if there was something I neglected to tell her...

The first Sideshow piece I bought for myself was the 1/6 Jedi Luke (non-exclusive ) figure. That one purchase truly began my obsession with not only the company, but 1/6 scale figures in general.

The first Sideshow Direct item for me was the Jedi Anakin 1/6 figure. I've purchased just about every exclusive Star Wars 1/6 figure since.

Jedi Luke via ebay. Then the Obiwan and Vader PF wait listed on the site. They converted about a week later and Vader was my first SSC collectible to arrive. I couldn't believe it - I'd NEVER seen anything so impressive. Luke arrived a few days later (my first 12" and the best Luke sculpt Ive seen).

Then of course I got into Marvel and more SW and LOTR 12" oh and Sauron on second chance... man I love this stuff.
