I'm starting to get intrigued by the teasers I've seen posted lately for First 4 Figures statues like Viewtiful Joe and Wind Waker Ganondorf, but I don't see much excitement/discussion about this company at all. Nothing like I see for companies like Pop Culture Shock, Sideshow, Bowen Designs, Kotobukiya and so forth.

Are First 4 Figures statues not popular? I'm curious about the quality and reviews for this company, but I don't see very much feedback about them at all on most boards. Even here on SSF there's only 600 comments total in several years...

I think it's because Nintendo and Sonic are not really popular on this board. I've already been dissed for liking Nintendo games here from a couple of board members. Their statues are good quality and you never have to worry about paint apps like other companies. They are also a much smaller company so they are not well known like Sideshow, Kotobukiya, etc.

F4F pretty high quality from what I've seen and received. No complaints here.

If anyone gives ya **** about liking Nintendo I hope you laugh in their face and call them a Star Wars geek. I'm pretty sure 90% of this board are star wars freaks.

What's wrong with Star Wars?

Next question: It looks like F4F offers light-up exclusive versions of most of their statues, which seem to hold their value better.

Are the light-up features implemented well and worth paying extra for? I understand the appeal of light-up Dark Link or Light Suit Samus or what not, but I'm not sure if it's really a big deal for statues like Tails and such?

Lionheart gave some good input on them when I had some questions a while back:

Me personally, I hardly turn them on anymore unless I'm browsing or showing off my collection. In theory, LEDs should last decades of continuous use, but that's hardly the case with statues. Usually something will go wrong with the internal wiring before the LEDs give out. I have 5 statues with LEDs in total, and 2 from First4Figures (Wolf Link and Midna/Dark Link Exclusive). When I first got the F4F statues, I would leave the lights on for upwards of 4 hours at a time daily, and I did this for a year or so. As of today, Midna's hair still lights up, but Dark Link hasn't been working for probably a year or two.

My suggestion is to use the lights as often as you like, and enjoy them while they work, because they won't last forever. Also, if you choose to do this, it might be a good idea to invest in some rechargeable batteries.

Is First4Figures shipping always so expensive? $40 for a 1/6 Ganondorf seems awfully expensive when I get my Sideshow Premium Format 1/4 statues shipped to me from all the way across the country for 20 bucks regularly.

Yeah it's expensive. I only buy direct from them if I'm getting an exclusive statue. But after you buy 5 statues you get 5% off future orders, then 10% off after 10 orders and 15% off after 15. You should check out Entertainment Earth since they have free shipping for F4F statues. I was lucky and got to order Princess Zelda for $325 and free shipping from them last year.
