I think we may have to wait until tomorrow's newsletter. They are not revealing anything tonight it seems.

I guess those runner-up prizes are looking pretty good. :naughty

Yea the stories were up the.........un.......
All three winners were posted.

Was the story a good one? Did they have it up?
The winning story was a zombie survivor story. I was confused by the ending, but I only read it once. One of the winners was from Australia, so, ya know, if you're from there, your odds are good.

You just wrote "Australia" and my heart jumped into my mouth! :horror
I know there are quite a few Aussies here but that's gotta improve my chances. :wacky :dance

Oh man, a day is too long to wait...

Interesting, cant wait to see the winners. I had sort of a Zombie in mine but I'm not from NY. I imagine alot were DQ'ed from spelling and other errors, I had 3 people read mine. Its so easy to read past mistakes. Anyway good luck.

I took a quick glance at it and wasn't too impressed with it, maybe when I read it again tomorrow it will be better.

I'm sure the story will get bashed. Theres no doubt about it. The winner may not reveal themselves just for that reason. But I'm sure it will be the right choice, and I know there had to be tons of stories that got DQ'ed for stupid errors.

Who will be the 1st to start the thread "Mines Better". I just hope it doesn't come to this and that people dont blame SS for picking the winners. We got to be good sports eventhough "Mines Better".:wacky

I wasn't trying to imply that mine was better, I just didn't like the first one... no big deal. I didn't read the other winners but I am sure SS picked the best ones.

I had the opportunity to read a few of the entries and they are certainly deserving of being where they are. The one thing that stuck out to me was that they were all fairly grounded in reality. Apart from the idea of zombies causing someone to barricade themselves in an attic, the stories weren't very "out there". Maybe that was a conscience choice by the judges to pick the more plausible flash fictions or perhaps it was only a coincidence.

It will be interesting to read the non-winning entries to see how creative people actually got.

What errors could people be disqualified for? Going over 500 words?

Zombies in the attic! Sounds like it could be cool. Looks like I should have done a zombie story... That's OK--I'm not sure my fragile ego could withstand all of the criticism that will come along with receiving the grand prize!

In my opinion, it would be sad if the winner remained hidden for fear of the backlash. Let's hope that we can all celebrate with the winner and enjoy reading all of the other entries as they get posted here! This is, after all, the "First Annual" Flash Fiction contest. We can all try again next year, and remember to include some zombies!

And don't forget that we can all read and vote on the "People's Choice" honorable mention stories. $75 is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

Yes, I did! I am completely shocked and excited! :horror It is quite an honor to end up on that winners page! Now I am really looking forward to reading the other entries and casting my vote for the Collectors Choice award. Good luck, everybody!
