"The Los Angeles Times spoiled Warner Bros. big announcement about a Batman/Superman movie in 2015, but now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that they will be following that up with The Flash in 2016 and Justice League in 2017"

I'm really excited for this, providing they do it justice. The Flash is a great character, and, in my opinion, I'd say he has the best rogues gallery in the DCU next to Batman.

The only problem I see with this character is his rouges list apart from reverse flash aka Professor Zoom, all the rest are silly a Gorilla, a guy who throws boomerangs, captain cold a rip of Dr. Freeze , some guys with mirrors and another who throws tops.

Captain Cold is the O.G. Mr. Freeze is a rip off of him. Also, use the camp to your advantage. They're a bunch of blue collar criminals with white collar weapons, why not use that to your advantage:

Picture this: economic downturn, a bunch of ex-cons lose their jobs. After relentlessly trying to stay straight, they give up and return to crime. They're doing pretty well, though. They're basically weekend warriors who steal stuff whenever they get together. Then, Barry Allen gets struck by lightning.

The next job they pull is a little bigger, and it catches the attention of The Flash. They almost get caught, but get away for some plot device reason (I.e. he has still not honed his connection to the speed force). For the time being, they disband their little group, and start pulling more small time stuff. Liquor stores, has stations, selling stolen cars to chop shops, etc.

Until a mysterious stranger starts appearing unto each of them, out of thin air, and offering them the chance to be just as powerful as The Flash with his technology. He gives Captain Cold his gun, Heat Wave his flamethrower, Weather Wizard his wand, Mirror Master his dimensional stuff etc. with the express purpose of using it against The Flash.

You could later say that the shadowy figure is Professor Zoom, and he wants to get rid of The Flash before he's a problem, or something like that. Bottom line: you can use the camp to your advantage. The reasons the villains seem corny is because they're the same type of **** that you or I would come up with if we wanted to be super villains.:lol

Well I think any future DC movies will follow the Nolan/ Goyer model which is based in a "real world". There last superhero movie , Green Lantern, which did not follow this movie did not perform well as such I do not see them doing anything other then this formula. Even more so when they are obviously trying to establish a shared universe between various characters this tone and story style will need to be reflected in all their upcoming movies.

Hence any future movies will need to be set in reality and as such they would need to explain things from that perspective. In the Nolan/ Goyer world their is no mysticism all powers are explained through science so any villain or hero must fits this mold . So if they could turn these guys in to gritty science based villains then I would say they have a shot other wise it will not happen.

This hold true to the heroes as well we Green lanterns power must be explained from a scientific angle and don't get me started on Wonder Women as her whole existence and powers would need to be altered

Having Prof Zoom on screen would pretty much trump any other villains.
Flash has plenty of villains that would translate to the big screen, old and new.

Not really seeing as that is cross different studios.

I guess we should use this thread to discuss the upcoming film starring Ezra Miller due in 2018.

Never seen the guy in anything but he gets a lot of praise. We Need To Talk About Kevin got some great reviews and I've wanted to check that out for a while. I'm a huge fan of The Flash so hope this turns out great. :)

Ezra Miller On When He Found Out He Was THE FLASH

In October, Warner Bros. listed off all of the comic book movies that they will be releasing over the next five years. One of the, was a solo film for The Flash. That film will arrive in theaters March 23, 2018. They then announced that the Scarlet Speedster will be played by Ezra Miller, who is best known for his role in Perks Of Being A Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin.

We haven't heard anything from Miller since the announcement was made, but The Hollywood Reporter caught up with him at Sundance a few days ago and asked him about the moment he learned he landed the role. "Zack Snyder told me on the phone that he wanted me to play the Flash while I was eating a tilapia in a small Central American village," Ezra Miller said. "That was definitely a moment that prompted me to question the fabric of my reality."
We don't have to wait until 2018 to get our first glimpse of Miller as The Flash, as you can expect his character to be included in Zack Snyder's Justice League: Part 1 which arrives in theaters November 23, 2017.

I'm confused... So this is a different film from what was announced earlier this summer with Ezra Millstone cast as the Flash?

I don't think so, this is what was announced in October as part of the long list of DC movies. Unless I've missed something. What makes you think it's a different film?
